Clay (Mod?)

You know how you used to be able to make clay using water and gravel? Well supposedly it was a mod (I didnt know!)

Is there any chance we could see a return of it? I need a load of brick, and clay is actually rarer than diamond (minecraft wiki). It's an absolute ballache to get, and really theres no need for it to be - You can only make bricks out of it!
