We all know over last year or so the population on camalot has dropped drastically, so what does mythic/goa go and do they start another server.

To much to late in my eyes, I know it sounds good to have a no BB old style cam etc but now the small population of Hibernia has reduced further.

The last few nights on Excaliber we have been lucky to get 200 people online (Tonight /who all i got 129 people in total at 9.45pm )thats hib/pryd together.. .

I feel thats a very stupid move on mythics behalf, for me the game has stopped bang dead, the server seems empty on Excal and i wont be xping another character again ;-(.

All i can say is i hope its just a novelty as if Excaliber remains as it is mythic have lost another subs payer.

Whats everyones elses view on this? do you think classic is a good choice on mythics behalf?

i think they made the strangest thing ever in the period of this game tbh.
They been working in every patch towards to try and satisfy people who dont like toa etc..and still keep the good things about the new expansions.
Clustering was the latest thing that might save the comunity for a while longer and would have been the bridge over to next expansion.
And what happends then...they create the classic server that makes this huge drawback for exc/pryd....erhm....talk a bout a contratdiction:p
If not the novelty wears of and some people return we might have ourself the first step towards an end in exc/pryd daoc.
I worked alot on all the characters i have here...and im not throwing it all away that lightly and beginning all over again. Im not a robot in that sence that i just start over again or buy a new account etc like some do very easely.
Then i rather start playing a new game all together....and see something new at least if its gonna be worth it.
But im not gonna be too hasty. we been ahving some okish rvr the last couple of days...and also trying to check on arties etc thats not camped now with this situasion.
So im gonna wait and see:)
lets hope they can fix this somehow....but this havent been their best move imo.
over and out...

The classic hype will soon end and most part will move back to there original server and classic should drop down to camlann numbers, since ToA > Classic. Classic simply just get boring as there realy isnt much in it to do. Only people that might stick around are the RvR guilds who main focus on RvR. And since it will be mostly those guilds there the casual players will stand even less chanse of getting groups or if running pug's actualy kill someone. By the time the casual players close in on rr3, the RvR guilds should be closing in on rr6. And you will have the RR difference that been whined about so much on regular servers.

owell, just how I see it, just have to wait and see what happens now :)

Tried Classic on US and all I can say it aint my cup of tea.

classic is the new FOTM, everyone wants to try it but after a while it should start to go back to normal population.

on U.S. there was nearly 3500 on Lamorak in the period of the first month or two, then people started to leave the server and play on their original ones, i hope its the same case on EU or this will proberly be the start of the end.

i just hope it won't take too long for the people to get back to their original servers, cause i haven't even played since the start of the classic servers, just nobody on... and if this is going to take too long i'm just not going to come back i think...

Muhahaha while everyone is playing classic I will be lvling arti's in a now-dead POC and getting those arti's that used to be camped by the attention-deficit bunch who have transferred to Classic (until they whine that their toon isn't as great as their RR9L8 whatever on exc/pryd and swap back).

I like it being empty, from what I see, everyone on normal exc/pryd hibside at least seems to be getting on fine, no arguments or bickering.

And hiya Solamnus :)

It is a fad I agree.

I had a go last night with some guild mates and tbh, its was great fun and a great feeling to see so many players moving around and pottering about lvling etc. It makes the game feel new again. I wont be leaving my main server, but I do like the change of having players all around you while you level. Ok maybe pain getting cons to kill, and may piss you off in the long term, but at present while the fad is new its warming to see the game like it was when it first came out, new and lively.

I don't like losing parts of the game ive paid for and I actually like TOA etc, but I play more the sense of been in something others are playing in great numbers. Its why I went to GW at one point for a while.

At the end of the day once the leet on classic have got what they want and reached there goal the new lively atmosphere will die off and it will settle down to the normal bitch and whine fest that follows leet RvR.

If it was OF and pre-SI with catacombs system, i'd be interested.

Classic is a TOA-removed pile of crud where classes like Vamps and Tics are rediculously overpowered because they are designed to fight botted players on equal standing.

It is nothing more than the new Camlaan, and everyone knows how that ended up.

tbh, many talk about pre-SI and OF like it was a golden age, tbh I dont remember what was so damn fun about 8fg albs camping MMG in emain whole days so not a singel mid was able to get out(yes mids did the same to albs), and getting 5+ stealther adds no matter where u were figthing, if you were a hib you had to run all the damn time to emain. Specialy uber boring if you were a stealther and ended up having to run stealthed all the way or get ganked on the way by other stealthers camping the route for easy rps.

I take NF any day of the week over OF

Agree, NF > OF for me as well. The reason I went to Lamorak was because I always wanted to play a druid (and to give credit where it's due, it's faster to get rvr ready on "classic" despite the need to farm DS).

Now my druid here is almost ready, I don't have problems with MLs, artis were my main problem with toa (having to camp blah blah blah) but with 1.81 coming I don't really see any problem at all.

Of course I agree with people wanting to play classic to try a different realm, it is more than a valid argument.

i agree, but some ppl go to so classic who dont like ML abils and arti charges, that might be the other reason behind it. just have to wait for 1.81 and mybe some come back to here...
