At well over 6 feet, hes hardly 'little'. And hes paid to be opinionated. And if you read his columns in the Sunday Times, hes far from Vacuous.

In fact, I find his reviews of cars to be very accurate, and I agree with a lot of what he says.

So please, go and eat some lentils :)

I like Clarkson, but of recent years his opinions are starting to become those of a grumbling, mumbling old man.

Top Gear is by far the best TV proggy in a long time.

He's a great reviewer of cars. He tells it like it is really and I respect his reviews as he is seldom wrong about a car.

And who cares what his thoughts on the environment are. Whats that got to do with him getting a technology degree or whatever it was...

He surrounds himself with 'yes men' and loves the sound of his voice far too much. Thirty seconds of him on the TV is 30 seconds too long...

You only hate him because he slags Birmingham off so much.
Birmingham is a shithole, slagging it off is hardly unjustified.

Hmmm, the thread is titled "Clarkson get what he deserves", but I don't see any mention of him getting a knighthood.

The thread title lied to me.

If I didn't like people with opinions then I would not use forums - as these are the means for people to present their opinions. Clarkson, however, is a conceited self-important toerag with no time for other peoples views or concerns. He is unlikely to use a forum as he has no use for peoples opinions whereas I, on the other hand, do. It doesn't mean I always agree with them though.

Turamber, I think you made your point regarding your dislike of Clarkeson in your first post. There is really no need to keep posting the same opinion over and over. If you accept that a forum is a place of differing opinions then accept the fact that not everyone here agrees with you.

I think Clarkeson is a bit of an arsehole, but an entertaining one.

I like him, all the ecoweenies will of course complain.

And why should he ever care what people think! He has what looks like one of the best jobs ever! Driving lots of expensive supercars, Gets to go on trips round the world and is rich, and why would someone not want to surround themselves with yes men?? makes life less of a hassle

So fair play to him. great job, good lifestyle and a good life. If i was him Im sure i would be acting exactly the same, an overgrown schoolboy who gets to do amazing things and say what he wants.

Pretty much how I see it. He has the best job in the world, and annoys the most annoying people in the world (fucking environmentalists......seriously how can they be so arrogant as to think man has a significant bearing on the future of the world itself. It's survived a hell of a lot worse than an extra bit of CO2, and most of it long before we got here. It'll be here long after we leave as well). Long may he reign....

Bodhi old chap, it's not a matter of CO2 destroying the world, it's a matter of the climate changing and that screwing humanity right up the arse - which it very well could. Imagine a couple of Katrinas a week.

which is exactly my point, why they can't come out and say "OK screw the planet, it's the human race we want to save" is completely beyond me.

I reckon Clarkson is great, as does my old man...although you have to take some of the things he says with a pinch of salt.

Least this will be the next thing Clarkson gets a bashing for on TG, if his car is now working that is :)

Clarkson might be an arse, but he's an entertaining arse, and at the end of the day thats all that matters as long as he is on TV and not in politics.

Clarkson is a (small) counterweight to the torrent of po-faced miserablism that is Britain today. We need people like him.

I'd love to see evidence of that.

There was a show recently on discovery called Storm Force 2050 i think (something like that anyways) - it predicted the extreme weather due to climate change for the year 2050 (hence the name).

They foresee 1 hurricane in America per week, several in other countries, Amazon style rainfall in all countries, tornado's as seen in tornado alley , across the world, extreme poverty in countries other than the current 'third world' - the list was practically endless of the disasters that they predict will happen.

It could be a load of tosh, it may also be true. We have no 'real' idea until it happens, and yet when it does (such as the tsunami on boxing day last year) people will panic , and wonder why it happened... i guess some people will just say.. told u so.
