Anybody like me think that some clans in general are getting a bit too big for there boots.By that i mean that sometimes you cant get a flaming game and when you finally do nearly everyone of them can be a clanned member.Sometimes there's next to nobody on public servers because there all committed to playing clan matches at a specific time , this carry's on through the bloody week , but I think it must be more intimidating for inexperienced players because sometimes when they do get a game all they meet on line is the expert with the rail gun , this can be a bit off putting to newcomers .....rambling now but you get the drift....remember it's a GAME for fun.................

Id agree with that :( though there are newbie servers like Force9 and Easynet however more often than not some VGOOD players go on there to take the piss which is very lame :)

WPDML is holding a Newbie night once a week afaik :) So that new players can all play each other and enjoy the game ! without getting slapped

yip some good players do leave a lot to be desired at times , they sometimes think themselfs so good that THEY couldn't possibly be in the wrong, when in fact they are sometimes the reason some newbies give up before starting , It has been known for experts to be more of a hindrance rather than a help .However you cant paint everbody with the same brush........

Not much u can do except by find the nwebie servers via forums, newsgroups and of course checking servers via GameSpy.

Q2 is now over 2 years old, there are so MANY veterans who are so good at weapon runs, weapon usage, rapid movement around the map and they know what they should be doing instead of stopping and thinking "where next?".

These days veteran players prolly thrive MORE on good clan compos more than they used to seeing as Q2 is so well known now and there's not much to talk about anymore in terms of maps, movement techniques etc. They prolly tend to go onto public servers where they play agniast many other veterans who know what theyer doing so get good matches.

Similarly, Q3 end up composed initally of Quakeworld and Q2 veterans who will wipe the floor with the rush of "newbies". same thing applies, newbies might get put off playing, but I doubt it.
