I've got a 5 day weekend from the 17th Dec, thinking of a european city break.

So far I've looked at Edinburgh (less than a £100 on flights), Oslo (less than £50 on flights), Budapest (£100 plus on flights).

I'm not too worried about the cost of flights, but under a £150 would be nice. Where should I go?

I've only been to Prague and Berlin out of the traditional city break European places. Looking for a nice chilled culture holiday, but staying in hostels so drinking could potentially be involved.

Anyone seen any good offers? Suggestions?

Ta!

Yeah I'll be on me lonesome so, I'd be swayed towards somewhere like Barca where there are large amount of hostels and backpackers.

Florence is nice, bit expensive though

This is true. Florence is by far and away the prettiest city I've ever been to. It's astonishingly so.

Fly into Piza, see the leaning tower (it's all there is to see as the rest of piza's a shithole), then get the train to Florence - couple of hours away.

Lots of Italians in shades and scooter madness. Less hot spanish ass tho.

You going out in St Andrews or Edinburgh?

St Andrews is lovely; full of posh totty and very well to do - it's absolutely scumbag free.
