Cheating in DoD

Well, having only been playing DoD for 2 weeks I got my first accusation of cheating. I haven't even learned the names of the maps yet. I basically took the axis' first flag and then found a window, about 3 floors up from it and sat there. Shot a guy, who obviously didn't know where he'd been shot from. Next thing I know he tells the world I am wallhacking. I don't know if shots penetrate walls the same as in CS, do they?

What I'd like to know though is this. How can you tell cheats in DoD anyway? It is impossible to watch the opponents using a chase camera, and you are only dead for 10 secs max anyway.

Do admins have the ability to watch anyone with a locked or free chase cam? I have been a bit sus a couple of times but not known if it is worth getting admin or not. What do people think?

Thanks

If you get accused of cheating, rave about the wallhack or aimbot you 'use' and then watch the flames.

Imo ther arnt many cheats in dod, except for the no recoil thing, which is easy to tell cos you get killed by a bloke running along with a big machine gun lol.
Dont worry I get accused of cheating at least once a week, and im not even that good, its just kids.
Fageddaboutit :)

Thanks for those replies.

TBH MT I just laughed at him and celebrated the fact that it was my first accusation (must be getting better).

Thing is DoD community on BW is so much smaller than CS, I don't want to get a rep as a cheater. I know I shouldn't care, and they are just kids (I'm almost as old as you Throddy ;) ) but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

(is it just me or are these forums v e r y s l o w t o n i g h t ?)

just out of interest how easy is it to shoot someone whilst running with the big mgs? I 've been killed many a time by people running with them and thought "wtf?!"

Its nearly fucking impossible to hit anything with the MG unless you're lying down with it.

Unless you're very fucking fortunate.

Or are using a no-recoil cheat.

BTW: I believe OGC works fine in DoD and there doesn't appear to be any anti-cheat for DoD either.
Also my ping is unbelievably shit.

The only people I have ever hit with an undeployed MG have been at point blank range. Even then I miss more often than I hit.

Try running at a wall with one firing, the bullets go everywhere but at the crosshair.

hmm if that's true then there are one hell of a lot of people in Dod using no recoil cheats. :(

Well deduced. Its getting very silly out there.

Its a weird phenomenon, I cant hit anyone besides point blank people with a MG standing up. Yet my CS clanmate can hit people at range, tho not all the time and not reliably, but he can.

I can occasionally hit people at distance with a thompson, though not often with an mp40. But when you think about it, thats how it was in real life ! As far as I'm aware the tommy gun only fired pistol rounds anyway, so its really a close up gun, like a weaker mp5 :)
I find on maps like thunder (you know the raining one ... ) I can run riot with a tommy or mp40 , just get up close, charge the buggers and they go down in rows :)

Trouble with the Tommy in DoD tho is that is fucking near enough uncontrollable. Ridiculous muzzle climb on anything except a 2 round burst. IRL its a heavy bastard (Para's used to complain, but then stopped as soon as they got issued the Sten) and a 4-5 round burst will normally stay on a Figure 11 target at 20-25 meters.
Yup, it fires pistol rounds (.45 ones) as does the MP-40 (9mm or .38).

I'm a mind of useless information.

Hehe well i was right about that then :)
But I find the tommy much more controlable than the mp40, that has a mad recoil, tho I must say it sounds great dont it ? I dont reaally know anything about the heavy mg, Ive never chosen it as a gun, as its not my suited to my style of mental rambo attacking mode :)
(Ask any Cs players who know me !)

I have actually followed your advice Throd and I've just played DoD and ended up with a 32-9 score on Heuteu. The Tommy rox provided you do as you suggested and stay crouched and get in close. Surprisingly controllable at short range.
I love the MP-40 and the StG-44 is a dream to use at close range. I just wish you got more ammo with it :( Was carving up the Allies on Caen2 with the StG.
Get a couple of blokes with StG's and a guy with an MG to support them and they can own a map big time.

Got accused of being Rambo once or twice too :)

I was getting annoyed with DoD and its lagging and inability to hit people square in the face, but all is coming together now quite nicely. I'm still not a fan of the Garand, but my skills with the Kar are getting much better. The only weapon I really hate is the sniper rifle, because it sucks willy.

Useless information part 2:
The British made the worlds only totally silent rifle during WW2 by using the .45 ACP bullet (Tommy gun round) because it does loads of damage but is also a subsonic round by default. They coupled this with a cut down Lee Enfield rifle that had THE WORLDS LARGEST FUCKING SUPPRESSOR on it and hey presto.
The ultimate silent sentry take down tool.
It even had a special mechanism that ejected the spent cartridges into a felt lined box next to the chamber so they didn't fly out of the gun and make any noise.
The only thing you heard was the click of the bolt going forward and the thud of the bullet hitting the target.

Ok, I'll shut up.

DoD is still biased in favour of axis :(

basically, in 1.3 it was biased towards the allies with the main allies rifle being an 0wnage gun, as it was semi auto with little recoil....

now they have gone to another extreme and made the axis rifle have little recoil and have a clip instead of single bullets like before, although its still bolt action.

the allies main rifle is still semi auto but with god awful huge recoil, its pretty shit to use when a kar user is nearby.... even with the bolt action car they can shoot more accurate shots faster... than the semi auto allied rifle which is just crap...

the machine gun recoil is good and everything else is good

they need to make the allies rifle back to how it was
and leave it at that.

LOL staz you can just carve 'em up when you get in close cant you? Makes me laugh :)
All these guns have changed in one way or another , but its just a case of getting used to them. I dont think its particularly biased towards axis, you just have to think what you're doing. For example I found avalanche really annoying beacuse the axis would just spam grenades down the hill, and rack up massive scores. The answer ? Well dont go that way obviously ! Theres loads of routes through the buildings , just have a look.
Or in other words, theres more than one way of skinning a Nazi. (or something :) )

Always more than one way to skin a Nazi.
Skinning Nazi's should be compulsory in all secondary schools.
I agree about the Garand though, it needs less recoil and that would balance things out immensely. Love the Tommy though.
