Right my step sisters laptop has just packed in, it was expected as it is old.

Anyway she cannot go without a computer for more then a few weeks tops. Now this is where it gets hard. I need to get her a cheap and i mean really cheap computer. Around the 500 mark.

Now i have more or less got it sussed but im really looking for a cheap but reliable monitor, and to see if any of you good people have any ideas where uber cheap parts can be found.

go to a computer fair...

but be sure to get a recipt, and an address.

and test it there, don't take there word for it.

If it doesn't have to be anything special, I'd just go with Dell or the likes. They do a 2Ghz Celeron based system, including a 17" monitor, built and delivered for around £479, which is pretty impressive. If you do need a list of cheap monitors (price range?) just shout.
