Changing Capital letters to lower case, en masse

I have a large word document that has been typed in capital letters (not by me ).

Is there any way to change this to normal text without typing the whole lot again?

Just highlight the text (Edit > Select All or Ctrl+A) and click Format > Change Case, choosing the desired option (i.e. Sentence case).
