Changes to de_inferno

Err hes right if these changes do go ahead and the map is included in 1.3 the map will be mush more balanced. Just as good as cs_italy perhaps?

Still its not confirmed at all by cs team yet. I like the idea of the third route, stops maps being so linear, places real emphesis on teamwork by ct's to win. SHould be interesting what players do on pubbies when they find they cant charge t's for quick kills anymore incase they get flanked.

Why would you want to light a map?

'Flaming' maps is not a good idea, you're likely to get lost

He is relighting inferno.

Aztech is a top map, I was reading a columist saying that mappers are scared to move away from the dust forumla for maps incase no one plays them.

Aztech is one of the few cs maps that can have longer rounds these days, this new version of inferno should be one to.

Aztec is a classic map! Great map! Bsically it has the same layout as dust. Main battle area with several off routes and a thid route for flanking (water, bridgeway).... what inferno is trying to add.


Imo dust just about edges it in terms of design. But i love running around last man against a still strong opposing team on Aztec, the size and design of the map give you a good chance to use tatics to wipe out the whole team. Sorry, tactics..... what are they??

off topic, but on about map changes, FFS get rid of that echo on seige i mean WTF is that about, also plzzzzzzzz burn / destroy / eradicate all known traces of (shudder) 747

Aye, that echo on Siege is a nightmare. Does anyone else get the problem that you get an echo in the tunnel, but then the echo stays every else on the level?
I would also give good money if they would add an object infront of the very first corner that the CTs have to turn (the one in the canyon). A pack of awm scum looking from the tunnel upto this point can totally screw the game.
747 is great. I loves that map - well until you get attack of the wallhacker that can headshot you about 3 rooms away.

Imho 747 is a great map but I agree it suffers the worst of all maps when you get the inevitable billy-no-mates with a wallhack. Played fair it's great and it's a pity it's not used in clan games more.

I get the same echo problem with siege and it drives me nuts, also it ain't great because T's rule as there are only two entrances to the hossies and bot are very easy to defend. I played this once with a previous clan and it just became T camp city. No fun, no tactics and as CT no lives.

... and to add some controvesy to the proceedings , am I the only one who thinks Dust is crap. Maybe Im jaded from the clan games we've played but with only one tactic as T likely to produce a win, I find it far to linear. Personal faves include Prodigy and Aztec (badly lit - but very, very balanced). Why doesn't Barney close off the house on Inferno to the Ts, save an awful lot of un-tactical camping on the publics.

Aztec was a top map until they redid all its textures, now it looks worse than a curry house toilet

The problem with 747 is not so much a wallhack but a bug in the map. if you didn't know you are able to see people's name through the curtains. So what you get is people sitting in the aisle ways waiting until they see an enemy's name come up and then just shoot. Unfortunately this works very well, especailly if you are a lpb. Still a good laugh with a shotie or para.

I expect most of you knew that anyway. But i am bored.

With a good ct team i think seige is still a good map. But i bet there are a load of people out there like me who are lazy and like to sit at the back of the garage with an awp. If i know there decent players ont he server who will actually rush as ct then i will go ct. Same with Assault. Problem is there is no point rushing in by yourself in segie just going to get shot to pieces. Round over! Assault is not so bad - i think if you can get through that vent fast you have a chance.

Where possible i try to play as a lone wolf. Like to go my own way and do my own thing.... best way on public servers i think. Unless you are playing with people you know

Aztec is one of my fave maps, I like siege aswell although it can get very boring. Especially when someone camps in the room with the hossies. But surely you can all agree with this one - Vegas is one heck of a pile of shite.:puke:

sorry, but I love vegas too! About the only 3 maps I dont like are the as pair, and Italy.

OK - Oilrig is def the worst and I used to hate tundra but it has kinda grown on me. :eek:

Personally, I think the worst maps can be classified under 1 - AS maps SUCK

All the VIP maps are pants.

Oh lets of controversy and very personal preferences here.

At the end of the day you need some differences between the amps, you can thave all the amps being the same because it takes away some gameplay styles.

Personally there isnt one map in the current CS mappack I dont enjoy playing.

There are a few I wish would have changs implemented but i wouldnt leave a server cause of the map.

I do find hate on certain map s come's from a players own inability to adapt to it or do well at it.

Siege> its not always fun, and takes a lot of teamwork from ct's to win. The moving of the crate slightly to the right/left depending on perspective stops the AWP whoring to an extent. The removal of the door from the sewers also helps CT's a little. Still linear though, not the perfect map by any means.

Assault > Now I wouldnt class this like Siege, I get great enjoyment playing this map as ct's. It needs teamwork and very well timed rushes. Also grenades\flashes and smokes all need to be utilized. I only play assault as t's very occasionally and while its easier, its not as easy as everyone makes out. This imo is the best example of what CS is all about.

747> You can see players names over a certain distance, you have to be fairly close to the curtain to do this. People that shoot u over the distance of one or more curtains are wallhacking or just spamming the corridor.

Aztech> Yeah the lighting cant please everyone, or the new textures. But its still a top map.

Dust> Its a simplistic master piece really, I still love playing this map, okay there aint going to be any tactic that suprises u anymore but its fun.

Italy> My fav map of all time, its very very fairly balanced.

AS maps> Why remove the only other alternative to cs/de maps?
I enjoy vip maps, I find newbies (no offense intended jsut an expression) are the only ones who hate the more challenging or larger maps. Vip mpas are large by nature, and oilrig is a masterpiece and very enjoyable if u know what u are doing. Tundra even in the face of 5 t's with AWp's is fun. Just try and overcome the odds with teamwork


EDIT> Oh yeah forgot, map changes always annoy someone aztech and 747 as examples. But one map i agree should go back to how it was is siege, if i remember correctly siege used to be set at night?

assault2k has no longevity, which is why I personally prefer the original.

Orginal Siege.... can't remember if it was at night. I do remember the apc though. You'd always get some drunken fool who couldn't drive. I saw people take half their team out with that truck.

I can't remember there being a door at the t sewer entrance. I know it was diferent. I am so used to playing the new versions of the maps now that i can't really remember what the old version were like.

I do remember not liking the changes to office when 1.1 first came out. Bring back foption.... i liked that map.

Siege didnt even have an apc till 7.1 (remember jeepathon2k?).

foption was pure deathmatch. tHe only time I played foption tactically was in a clan match. It was bloody hard to plan for cause t's had 3 bomb sites and multiple routes, but made for a tense game. Err I'd like to see it back although it wouldnt get played much on pubbies.

foption wasn't deathmatch is was rushing around the the way the cts never covered and wasting them in the arse, well at least for me.

And grom if you say he cant light make your own map and stop wasting your time on that silly Exo game.

AS sucks, I only enjoy oilrig as the ct. If they get awms on tundra the t's just snipe, on oilrig you are too close to the enemy at the start, you can be 3 seconds out your base, and 3 nmes can be shooting you from 3 different directions, or by the time you are 5 seconds out you have to look around madly because you are vulnerable from 46656000 degrees around you.

Assault needs to be shifted slightly towards the cts, as does siege, and inferno doesn't need to be changed at all

rotterdam is cool, 747 is cool, aztech is cool, dust is ok unless ts camp spawn, italy is cool, vertigo has too many crates around and it gets boring checking behind them as you go around every corner incase someones sat behind one, the outside run of thunder is too far :\

the main reason AS maps suck imho isn't because of the VIP but because of the fact that you get limited weapons. On tundra for example the CT's would have much more of a chance if they could use the AWM to cover the vip's progress, but they just get denied the chance..... :(
