Hi making a champion just wondering what kind of specs i can have now respec is here...

is it important as a champion to keep Valor maxed?

as for mele what should i do? spec shield/some weapon spec until 40 then spec LW? help is appreciated thanks

Depends how you want to play. I've been both s/s and LW. I prefer LW as the damage is so much better. With a slow 1H sword you will average 100+ damage, with a max of around 150-160, but if you spec 42 in shield you get slam which is a very nice anytime style with a 9 and you may get nearer 200 dmg with it(on a mage). However that style uses lots of end, and I mean lots. As a champ your shouts also use a lot of end.

If you spec 50 in LW your damage on average will more than double and if you use Annihilation you can get around 600 on a mage. Although I have to say my 1h weapon dmg stats were based on experience before the self buff came in.

The usual specs are :
50 valor
50 LW
27 parry
7 shield
rest weap

50 valor
42 shield
39 weap
rest parry

s/s good PVE - people want shield users
LW kickass in RvR - phear da hammer

Personally I think all champs should go for 50 valor it's worth it for the blast and the self buff (the 50 buff animation is cool)

I think you can only respec one line at level 40 so unless you kept your 1h weap at about 7 you wouldn't get the best out of it

I dont use my valor as much as i maybe should. But yeah 50 valor imho is essential.
