champ lvling?

is it best to lvl from 1-50 (on classic) with LW or blades/blunt/piercing & shield?

spliting points across weapon shield and valor seem kinda hard to do, and LW gives less defence for soloing,

any ideas?

imo take as much valor as you can all the time, and spend the rest of the points in LW.. maybe abit in parry too.. --- This was what i did and it worked just fine.

When I 1st did my champ so long ago on classic I started him off on S & S specced at lvl 34 I deleted him.

After much frustration I restarted him LW and Valor even tho you don't have defence of a Sheild taking out of Yellows was so much easier and Downtime was much better than I had with S & S.This was also done before the Str/Dex buffs that Champs were given.Splitting between LW and Valor is way to go and you mini points into Parry but keep you LW at you lvl.

There are load of places in Classic now to lvl up on and Mobs that have been upgraded with some very nice drops for levelling.The advantage of LW is you can use Slash and Blunt weapons without speccing in them.

LW Damage hurts and Valor Spells are nice to use.

Hope you enjoy you Champ I loved mine all them years ago lol.

May bring him out of retirement myself yet lol

still if ur going to roll up on classic then it actually might be an idea to go for s/s compared to LW ... why?
well because most lvling grps will be somkinda hybrid grp/pbaoe grp and blocking can be real nice for when u make some of the really big bad pulls, atleast that was how 95% of all pve grps i were in on lamorak worked

50 LW, 42 shield, 39 Valor - You dont need the highend Valor tbh, its not worth it compared to Slam, guard etc

2h will take more dmg in pve thus more downtime, better choice if you have a healbot.
1h will take longer to kill, but less downtime, better group play, can take larger mobs solo.

Max 1h (or down to 2 below level), and bring shield and valor up together, point in parry if you cant fit it anywhere else. Should make a nice pve tank whatever race you choose.

kinda getting confussed now.. LW or 1h- i always went 1handed on any of my charas on alb/excal- (apart from my armsman) but if i try to spec shield weapon and valor kinda gonna be a arse getting the specs right....

Thats roughly what I would recommend, but maybe a touch more 1h spec and less valor/shield from 25-35 as your weaponskill is a little below par there.

alot of the blade styles seem to be after parry or block- not really looked at blunt tbh:touch:

Get engage that way and only drop one point in parry.
Is nice when jumped by archers.

In delve value the difference is small, but on buffed targets where your debuffs do 3x+ the delve value you will notice quite a big difference..

Slam is for gimps who cant pull off anni.

edit : oh and dont even give me the argument that slam can be used defensively.. Not with all those tendril abusing banelords around! (why I quit my hero)
