champ lvl weap abilities query

im probably misunderstanding this, but...

- At champion level 3, players are granted access to the base weapon types of each realm accordingly :

Hibernia : Blades, Blunt, Pierce, Small Shields
Albion : Slash, Crush, Thrust, Small Shields
Midgard : Axe, Sword, Hammer, Small Shields

so i can use all the weaps, big deal if you cant spec them for styles
however!
crit strike assasin styles work for any equiped weapon
so following that logic...
granted they arent specced. but
A) can you
B) would it be worthwhile using unspecced offhand of an odd damage type ?
or even just
C) using something like a hammer on your back for a charge/effect ?

or am i talking out of my arse ?

some NS's pierce specced have malice in off hand even tho its slash just for the uber proc.

other than that i would not bother as your variance will be poop

well i don't know if it's worth doign what you've said, but i know back in the days when there was a certain SB who used a staff to PA! supposedly worked wonders against plate wearing tanks, then switched to two axes.
