Ok here goes. I challenge you to find a geiger counter that is avaliable to buy via the net here in the UK. It can't be second hand and must be brand new.

I've tried over the past month on and off and found none . So over to you. I warn you it's not easy, but it should kill a few hours of your time .

How can it not detect Alpha radiation ? Given that radiation is just the ionisation of particles which is detected by passing an electric current though air it shouldn't matter whether the air is ionised by alpha, beta or gamma radiation.

Oh, and 2 out of 3 is a 2/3 solution not 3/4

Right had a lot of people ask me wtf I want a geiger counter. Here goes ...

A friend of mine is an environmental scientist and asked me for help in finding him a geiger counter. I had a look on the web came up with nothing so I turned to you lot in a "Challenage Anaika" (remember that show? ).
