CF vs Bog of Cullen

Now my meaning with this is to try to point some additional
hunting places for lvl 40+,what i have seen almost all are in
Cursed Forest and never even think about leaving from there.

But bog of Cullen is very good place for almost every levels
onwards from lvl46+ you can do Siabra Guardians with same group as Finliaths, they do hit harder but they also give much better rewards
At lvl+40 banshees are great with good group too

Near Innis are also pookas what are great for lvl35-40 groups.

Bored to CF? then Bog of Cullen is definetly for you,can almost guarantee every group between lvl 20 and 50 find great hunting spots there

yep, bog of cullen is old skool, it's where all the vets of today xped, before cf became all the rage. And yeah, siabras drop some damn nice scale armour so it's well worth the trip (and banshees drop casters stuff too, so only leather/reinf ppl have nothingextra to gain)

think its just the fact u can find an already made group in cf and the spots are very easy to get to while in bog its more effort to get a group there etc and find what u want to kill as v few ppl go there now :)

Dont rely on others to create a group for you, create your own!

use /AS to tell people you're starting a group, canvas you mates, and get those 50's to level their alts.

I ran through the pookas recently (between TC and Innis) without seeing a soul.... now how many groups did you used to see there... loads... I've never seen so many pookas. The group bonus must be fantastic, if no-ones kills them in weeks.

I remember that

The "Pook Stone" was always camped, so a group might elect to go up that little hill and kill pooks there, but there was always a chance you would get 2, or worse a superpook!! And they spawned behind you at night so you had to be careful.

You couldn't get to the spot at night either because of the Dulls so there were always people waiting till dawn to join a group.

Or on the few occasions when I had been a very good boy, and I could join Jeanelle or Rhani et al and go hunt Guardians and the archmagi in the bog.

When Demb was the only level 50 we had

:)

I know a few people who camp the pookhas at innis, mainly members of a guild, I even got to leech a couple of levels off them one evening :D

Thanks to you all

Personally I prefer CF to Cullen because I've worked hard to gain and maintain Siabra neutrality. I like being able to wander around in the siabra encampments without aggro - great for quests. So, that's why I've never liked hunting in Cullen much. But besides that, CF is more accessible - easy to get to the main pulling spots via the zone walls without any aggro.

The Pooks at Innis always used to be great, pulled to the 'Pooka Stone'. But after a recent patch (1.49 I think) the spawn pattern there changed, making the stone no longer a safe spot and the supply of pooks more variable. It's not been the same since.

Raven wraiths drop nice reinforced armor and stuff. And those fire-nuker mobs drop something too, cant remember what or the name of the mab tho.

The change came with DF opening and the last Big Relic Raid!

Some ppl stayed in Cf, to be close to our last Relic. BoC didn't seem that interesting when you could get all your magi stuff in DF.

The fact is, BoC is much better XP and the drops are still very good. But when you're finishing up with Corus, you look to see where other ppl your lvl are, they're in CF!. Why? Coz all those that would have been in BoC moved to CF, and so the Lvl'ing cycle starts there, as they get 'older' more join to fill the gap.

Saying xp'ing spots in CF are easier is not true, you went from Dulls/Pooks/Bears, to Siabs of all kinds. If your group was a little stuck, BAF'ing BWs were the dish of the day.

Let's not forget, ppl also organised trips into Sh Hills and to the Siab City, so again - what's the motivation to go to Gur and find a group, when no-body is there.

The temptation for mid lvl (45ish) was to head to CF and join higher lvl groups - who were near the Relic and DF entrance.

Just my thoughts :)

And yes, with the patch came dodgy Pookstone and Pooks that spawned on the hill at night, not day.

CF= Always a grp to go in or leech, good exp, trouble for grp leaders and always a firebrand for everyone ;). Always many peeps in a row waiting for someone to leave so they take his/her place or leech. Fin 4 spot also can give descent exp to 2 grps plus some leechers. If grps are well organised then u will never be killed. Although with 1 only balanced grp, EXP in Fin 4 may be tremendous!!

Bog= Difficult to find grp, great exp, great drops, too risky and most important FUN!!! Siabra guardians/Archimagi are great exp and fast respawn, too dangerous tho when u have to pull that A-magi inside the villa, on ur back there r Raven Wraiths which baff like hell and give The EXP, risky too. In the other villa more Siabras and the eidolon's, really thrilling, makes u wanna sh11t ur pants!! :)

I am with my guild in this places there the last week and i got myself to 46.5 there in no time. I still keep looking in CF for grps but when my m8s are in forming a grp to Bog I leave and join them, no matter the time or the risk. While running in bog u feel like at anytime something will pop and kick ur @$$!!

BTW during the weekend Bog ued to have more peeps than CF...... A new Beginning?

It's all a matter of fashion more than anything else - CF has become a very efficient XP machine with permanent groups at pre-defined pull spots for fins, following the formula and grinding up through the levels - but it's dull! DULL! DULL!! DULL!!! I would go and craft for a few hours to get over the tedium of finliaths, that's how frigging dull it was! :p If most level 50s seem a bit insane - it's the endless cycle of finliaths that did it. And then when we hit 50, as one last torture we're forced back into CF to get our epic armour!

Bog of Cullen has more variety of stuff to kill and a wider variety of drops (everyone leaves CF with a Pearlescent Necklace, a Stout leather Belt and about 50 Finliath Firebrands - and that's about it). It's not as conveniently set up as CF for easy access to the xp spots and doesn't have the permanent xp factory running - but if you actually put an expedition together and get in there, it can be very rewarding.

Sheeroe Hills is swarming with BAFfing, scouting aggro with some of the prettiest item drops (not necessarily best stats, but hey, you have to have a glowing weapon :) ). It's more suited to fun runs and loot raids than serious xping - there's always the chance of a wipeout and there's no way casual replacements can reach a group deep in Sheeroe - you go in as a unit and you come out the same way or by releasing.

Darkness Falls isn't always available, and these days when it does open everyone rushes off on a prince or legion raid. That's actually a pity - you can camp and farm some good xp in there, and the seal system makes for a very equitable split of loot. Raids can be fun, but what you get very much depends on the group you end up with - you can make half a level in one afternoon as a mid-high 40s character and have a backpack bulging with seals, or you can make half a bubble and not enough gold to cover the healer costs after Legion wipes the floor with you. If you get a group and do some solid xping in there, there's a full range of opposition, nicely segregated so there's always a good camp spot for your level. The occasional middie SB or flock of tinheads adds a certain something to break up the tedium of xping too.

So don't feel you have to do nothing but fins - try all these options and get some variety in your life. You might not level quite as fast as you would camping the 4 fin spot 24/7, but you're also less likely to end up gouging your own eyes out with a fork...
