How big and how devastating, noone knows. But hey, they are quite sure it won't happen

Anti matter is a total glen. You can make it pretty easilly. And it doesn explode, it just kind of fizzes and spits out a shitload of gamma rays, anihalating the two particles (or two coffee mugs) in the process. Anti matter is like borrowing money, you can create the debt and the wealth but you cant have it for ever - at some point its al going to go titsup and cause you some pain.

Te aim of the 10th of September is just to have beams circulating. There will be no collision then. The energy used there will also be around 1/10th of the energy they intend to use.

CRT screens can have refresh rates upto 120hz. Yeah for important stuff like that, if there was enough room for it, I'd definately use a CRT over a TFT/LCD anyday.
