Firemens strike.

Mixed feelings. They knew what the pay was before they joined. However it is low pay for a dangerous job. Last night on the news they were seen shouting "scab" "scum" at some non union members who choose to work. That imo is disgraceful.

Have to agree with you about Mark "Take That" Owen though. Surprisingly good guy.

I think it would be better viewing if they were all dragged out into the street to be shot at.

The celebs are Z-list and are boring bunch of twits! They should have got some good looking women in there!!

They should have replaced Les Dennis with Amanda Holden!!



The firemans strike:

I dont think they should be allowed to strike at all. Yes pay them more but I think they are being to greedy for such a big increase in 1 year!! There are huge waiting lists of people who want to be firemen....so the pay cant be all that bad!!

Fireman ? Yeah thats a tough job btw.
But theres apparently 40 people apply for every single job going. Market forces dictate then that they shouldnt get any pay rise at all....
Fortunately for me, Im not that much of a capitalist. But it does beg the question, how much should they get ? They do get a superb pension package, and they do retire early too. And most of them have another job, and the ones Ive spoken to never seemed short of money.
Its the tax payer that has to pay for public sector jobs, which is why they trail so far behind the private sector, which is bad when you consider they are the ones most often doing the really important jobs. But you wait, every person saying "oh Ill pay an extra penny in the pound for pay rises" are the same people who'l be voting Tory in the next election, when they promise tax cuts. Its just human nature .. :/

C-BB: Never been interested in it, but I reckon either Mark Owen or Melinda should win. Melinda appears to have matured very well in addition to her nice tits.



Firefighters Strike: Don't support what they are doing at all. They SHOULD get a pay rise, but no more than a few percent. They also MUST change their working practises because 4 days on and 4 days off is taking the piss.

And I don't trust the leadership one bit. This isn't a strike about pay, its a hard left attempt to take on the government and the firemen are being used as pawns in what is essentially a power struggle. Just like the Miner's strike.
And they WILL lose.

The Firefighters are very scared of doing any actual work, but the part that I will finish my rant on is what clinches it for me.

They get paid more than the SAS.

Celeb BB: Don't watch it. It only effects me in that it is Melinda week on Page 3

Firemen: They may not be paid that much as a basic wage but their conditions are way cushy. Four days on and four off compares well to 5 days on and 2 off that most of us do. Therefore you'd expect them to be earning less anyway. According to The Sun (may not be true then) there are many more dangerous jobs, including window cleaners and binmen. The strike is certainly political. The Government cannot afford to give in.
