well a properly played skald is pretty hard to beat one on one, since if they ifght "right" they'll.. DD + DD + hit, then mez. use song of healing to regen a bit, then DD + DD + hit + snare and use heal song again a bit, then finally DD + DD + hit, and continue til one of you is dead.. given that a skald does typically ~300 damage over the two DDs even with capped resists, that equates to about 900~ dmg from DDs, plus maybe 600~ from the hits before you get to do any real damage to the skald.. (this of course assumes that you and the skald are alone for quite a long period of time)

of course, if lots of DDs are resisted, or if mez/snare is resisted the skald is in trouble

Heh skald has never soloed me and never will at lv50 as solid says it is embarassing but then again toughest one is bezerk who can solo very very good.

Any sane Merc should have Determination 2 and IP.

Skalds mez lasts 29 secs I think before determination is factored in. I dont think the mez length works in the skalds favour, also their is a small matter of power and end, all spells eat end, esp hybrid spells. How much end will a skald have after 2 DD's a hit a mez, 2 more DD's ??? very nearly zero end.

I still cannot see a skald knocking off 1600hp on a merc with decent body resist and determination 2.

Skalds can only do neutral or minus damage on alb chain and mercs can do anything from penalty, neutral or bonus damage depending on what they chose.

I still cant see where 1600 damage comes from that fast, mez timer is 60 secs, dont think fight lasts long enuff for a 2nd mez, unless skald runs away and kites

Merc's average hp is 1600 so is quite hard to take that off with ip especially.Same for an armsman.

i had killed him a few times already so i had used me ip and fa2. also on the last fight he had IP and fa2 so thatis the reason he whipped me ass.
