Well it arrived today, unfortunately Grumlok's hand appears to have snapped off in transit so to get a replacement I've got to send the whole bloody box back to play.com :twak:

Mine also seems to have snapped off, though I'm not much of a player of the tabletop game, so I doubt I'm gonna send the entire box back to Play. With the stocking issues I'd be a tad reluctant to send the whole thing back.

Get some green stuff and do a conversion!

(edit) Also are you sure its snapped and just not meant to be glued like nearly all GW minitures

Any chance of a pic, I can tell you for sure then

Seconded.
Chances are, that's the way it's supposed to be.
The Grumlock model is going to be quite huge (it's an Ork warboss FFS :p), so it would make sense that it'd be a multi part model

Do you mean the hand with the axe? That's supposed to be seperate. It needs gluing on. There's no way to cast a model like that as one piece, and they're all like that.

Warhammer models normally come in several components.

Soon as I've got mine painted up I'll post him here...

You mean you'll still have time to paint with WAR being here? :p
Eer since I got into closed beta, I've painted a tremendous amount of... 3 High elf spearmen, An Imperial Guard commander. And 1 Orc boy.

cheers i'd never be able to make it on one of those "Faking It" tv shows if I had to convince a room of tabletop gamers that I'm one of them

Thats not snapped, just needs pinned and glued :D

Or if your not the modelling type im sure they will sell well on ebay, if you leave it for about a yr you'll probably make back the money you spent as it really will be a collectors

Aye keeping mine in its packaging for just that reason, I enjoy painting the figures but I dont collect armies (and prefer elves anyway) so not really worth much to me.

I've made a tutorial on how to do that rust effect here :D

Cheers on that link, I've been experimenting with painting rust on models, but I hadn't thought of trying it that way.
Come to think of it, shouldn't we have a modelling side-forum now? :)

someone at your local games workshop will probably do it for free if the staff there are as friendly as my local one.

if not ask if they do the painting nights where everyone can bring in there models and use the stores paints and brushes :)

those figures are awesome!!

I didn't figure it would be actual Warhammer figurines (I am that stupid) or I would definitely have put in for a CE pre-order...

Got the big ass paint kit as well, the one with every single paint they made.. such a shame...
