why is it that when i try to join in a quake 3 game it asks me for my cd key, and then i cant play?

type in your CD key on the case or are you a warez monkey ?

Make sure you have the correct patch for q3

Delete file Q3KEY from your baseq3 directory. Startup q3 and input the key afresh.

Type at console (key next to 1 and above tab)

/cl_allowdownload 1

then try it.

Errr this happens to me sometimes (v rare) , i try to join a server and get sent back to cd key screen. When i input the number it accepts it but i go back to main screen without joining the server.

Ive seenthis error lots of times,,and yes i got a true version of q3
even got the reciept.
Never used to get it,not sure if its osp or its a q3update,
but its there all right.!
when u start q3,just load a mod like osp ?
then u get the CDKEY shit error,,please enter your cdkey,,wtf?

U did enter your cd key allready ,and yes its legit ,but it will still ask u for it again,
ive seen peeps say oh yeh just do this ,,just do that,?
Nothing works, i think its OSP personally ,,but hey, noone gives A F~~~K .

So many Top cs players were once quakers i battled with on duel servers many moons ago.

Guess running around killing people in cs is totally different from running around killing people in quake.

cept in quake atleast you don't get herded like monkeys to one of two choke points, to battle it out point and click style

Everytime you add a new mod folder to your Q3 installation it asks for your CD-Key,the way round this is to copy the originial to every mod folder you have insde your Q3 folder and it's a problem no more.
