Cd Key

just networked computers and want counterstrike on both comps i tried to just share files from other computer but it still asked for a cd key and i want to be able to play both comps on counterstrike at same time if anyone has a cd key that they arent using or if anyone know how i can get a new one (ya ya i know buy one) or how i can play it without getting a new cd key email me or reply therealpoolpro@hotmail.com

if you want to play on a LAN just put the same key into each one and it'll work

if im right a LAN server can only be played with people on the network
If i am right than i dont want to play on a lan server is there any way i can play on the same regular server

Install it on each machine with the same key.

You'll be able to play together over the lan no problem. If you want to play online then there are 3 WON servers which I believe means 3 peopel can use a key at any one time (my cousin and I used to do this), but in 1.3 it won't let you join a game when somebody else using the same cd key is in there (hence me having to get a new cd key so my cousin & I can play on the same servers ;-)

You can use any half-life key, I bought blue shift and took the key off that... it was cheaper than any other half life game for sale at the shop ;-)

yes, before you could also get in trouble for playing with the same cd key. on a dod server i guy i knew had up, he had adminmod and a stats proggy running, the stats proggy would use adminmod to kick duplicate won ids...was very funny when people in clans would get kicked....1337 people who converge over the net to play? or just a couple of lads who live next door to each other

Never had that problem, the only cs servers I've ever seen running adminmod are on uk2net, and I steer well clear of that lag infested cess pit. 18 player servers, can't stand 'em (that includes yours Barry!) ;-)

Everyone should have nice 12 player servers, like the nuke dust militia ones... ;-)

HL(dm or sp, personally i still play sp cus it owns), TFC(the best class based TP game out there) then CS.

CS maintains the most played mod due to new players..it's so well known, there's a constant suply of newbies to it...gradually they discover that thing called tfc lurking in their HL folder and try it, and find themselves converted, but CS still maintains its top pos due to the newbies.

if there's one fault with CS, there's no weapon for mad people:
in TFC you can play scout and run around like a loony, in FLF go recon with a shotty and be mad, in HL, every weapon has potential to be a crazy one...
CS has nothing..its all crouching and using rifles...personally when i play CS i use the shotguns(both of em) and surprise a few rifle campers(anyone who crouches is a cmaper imo )

thats not true actually..I started on TFC but then it bored the pants off me after a while so I went to CS.

Bw servers have been 12 man and 16 man for 3 weeks now, maybe 4.

And Player is the best name in CS, and its not the default one.

ill reinstall it and prove me right if anyone dont agree..hell, if player isn't default then why would there be so many peeps named Player in it...
yep, Player deffinately is default, unless they changhed it with the latest patch, but that aint likely

edit: extracted CS and the name in the config indeed was Player..hell, its only these new mods that have stopped the HL tradition of the Player w00t, right yet again

I swear it never used to be Player.

I had to change my config to player whenever I actually made the damned thing.
