Catcher In The Rye

Right. One of my all time favourite books is Catcher In The Rye.

Has anyone else read it?
What did you think?
Did you want to kill a famous person/yourself?
Did you go around saying things like " I got a slug in my guts" for weeks afterwards and "madman".

I read it years ago. All I can really remember about it is that it was a pretty good book, interesting story, but I didn't want to go kill anyone.

Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake.

On a less heavyweight note The Winter King by Bernard Cornwall (yes, him ) is suprisingly an excellent book I would recommend to anyone.

I read that and for whom the bell tolls last holiday (Playa Del Ingles - Grand Canaria) I thought the book was a bit weird, I recon I should read it again. It seemed to be a book based around exploring a character rather than the story. It was a good(and quick) read.
