Caster's pets find stealthers ?

yes this is a whine but listen..


dont u all think once a stealthed user is stealthed after trying to kill caster or something and the pet is going straight to the stealther... they Pet should loose target if it stealths? i'm sick of trying to kill bd's or so and i run after stun incase they buffed but their pets just stay onto me :(
the pet should be only aloud to attack the target the caster see's stealthers get pwned this way if this doesnt stop tbh :\

if u know the pets will just follow you...why run...might aswell try and kill the fecker !

as for pets following stealthers after they have stealthed...always has been the case and is working as "intended" ;)

i don't totally agree with post but all pets should have a min range from caster they have to stay within or pet just dies.

Dont worry about it m8, with the new Vanish in NF your worries are over. No mob or pet can find you once you have pushed the button and its also a free purge :p. Im sure casters will be qqing plenty once we get it over here.

Yep, Vanish makes assessins unkillable. They have a Get-Away-For-Free card with that power. :/

This has come up before. Used to argue about it as SM, now as Cabby.

Assassins have an extremely high chance to kill a caster under most circumstances. Its only in very rare circumstances a caster will live long enough for the assassin to have something to worry about. Bonedancers are a slightly different case and must be tackled with care as they need very specific tactics to take them down instead of lining up in invisible mode and collecting your RP.

Regarding the running away bit... I don't think there is anything wrong with pets continuing to chase assassins that run away while invisible but I do think there should be a range limit on it but just before you think I'm getting all warm and muzzy about leatherclad freaks I think this range should be extremely large.

it is sort of ranged already from the pet point of view.. if you move far enough away you cant see the pets health or buffs or whats going on really..

And if you manage to find them within 30s its free RPs for you as they cannot attack you back :)

Stealthers have moaned at this since DAoC was launched, pretty much :p Should be obvious by now that Mythic won't fix it (probably have n oidea how to anyway) so it's something we have to live with - ie don't attack a pet class unless you're sure of killing him/her ;)

Anything that gets stealthers goat is good imo. Sick to death of being PA'd dotted by stealther who then legs it and stealths out 5inches away from my nose just as Im about to land a stun on him.

How can pets can see stealthed characters? Should be how can stealthers sneak up on you when your in a field of fresh mown grass with nothing over 2cm tall on any horizon?

you do know spells finish casting even after the enemy stealths .. so if it happens so to you that you are 'sick to death' of it, maybe you should start using a single dd or something to keep them unstealthed when they are running off?

I think this is a great thing. Why? Cause it makes stealthers less enjoyable to play.

Lets face it, stealthers are insanely overplayed.

chances of that happening are a little small, when you aren't a stealther or a pb'er...

If you look back to the early days of daoc and the grab bags at the time, Mythic (i.e. Sanya) was saying that this is a bug, not intended and it was high on their list of things to fix.

6 months later....

It's still a bug, and on the list to fix one day, but a low priority.

6 months later....

"Oh pets are magical, and can see through stealth. Was always intended to work like that anyway."
Translation: We are unable/unwilling to fix it.

Funny how bugs become features with enough time.

Anyway i think its top that pets see thru stealth beacuse if your running away your a wimp and deserve to die :D .... always fun tracking down a minstrel after he SoSes and you find him sat down somewhere rofl :p

Whats happened to me is there was a fg of luri stealthers at amg i send my pet to attack one and when the first one dies it went after the next ... then the next .... then the next until the fg was dead :p was pretty funny but think its a bug

Dont forget you actually have to land some hits on the caster after the intial PA, most casters have 1500 basic hp with some average SC. With a good crit and 50 cs spec you could 1 shot them no doubt, but i cant see it happening every time.

Just think about landing CD .... brittle guards, bladeturns, before they instantly purge ur poisons and moc lifetap you todeath or something similar, or there buddies kill you.

Heck long live double PA Vanishing tag team stealthers imo

Wont work with the new Vanish, so at least thats some more bug relief for stealthers along with that anoying pet bug.
