Caster Opinions Needed

I'ts a decision between 3 casters for the PvP server.

1) Light mentalist 45/24/16 light/mana/ment

2) Runemaster 49dark/2*supp

3) Mana Eld

I mainly want to be versatile but still have a powerful dd and I need to be group friendly PvP and PvE.

Or should I stick mith my original choice and go manachanter ?

I played a Light eld for a few levels, they seem Ok, but I dont like the low HP u get w/ 40/50 con (what every u decided to dump some points into)

Aint ever played a ment, but iv got a Runie and they are quite fun and easy to level (get PBT and go AFK ).

I hear darkness is pretty sweet in Rvr due to the low casting time which is a good advantage and u can be a d0rf!!! Ubah con and Kobalds just look cool n e ways

god no you can't level easy on pbaoe (Point Blank Area of Effect incase you didnt know) it actually requires you to press a button now and again!

PBT is Pulsing Blade Turn, it is cast and gives every group member a pulsing bubble (ie like your self cast bladeturn) and immensely increases a tanks effectiveness at taking hits, due to them being absorbed once per bubble, if you get something high like a 6 second bubble... well you guess get two runies with 6 second bubble etc... that'll be one hit every three seconds being totally blocked, so if your tanking very slow hitting purple mobs, you will basically take almost no damage ever

all this means that groups will be happy to let you just sit there afk with the pbt running in the background a bit like a minstrel playing power regen song really SHAMEFULL!

but you probably know that and are just trolling the forums if so then feel ashamed

Pulsing bladeturn, you get a 10s pulse at 26 suppression.

I have a light mentalist (celt, put 10 dex/con/int at start) and it's a nice class, decent nuke, ae nuke, stun, charm, heals, mana regen, heal over time, dots (bit weak), ae dot (also quite weak). Plenty of versatility, and still good nuking power. Playing celt means you don't have the really low con of luri/elf as well.

The low con was the main reason I was looking at the dwarf runie plus you get the *drooooooool* run buff!.

I have a lvl 20 manachanter at the moment and I've been getting a feel for mini RvR in thid but all I seem to do is use my weak light dd and then die :/

So that's why I'm looking at versatility, I want some options other than weak dd, snare or suicide pbaoe.

I really fancy a ment so I'm trying to level a runie (lvl5 - pryd) and a ment (lvl5 - Excal) to a semi decent level and get a feel of each before the pvp arrives.

hmmm decisions decisions .....

well dont forget the main reason hib casters have such an advantage over the others, because at higher lvl's that baseline stun get's incredibly usefull, your talking 9 seconds in which to kill them, if you have a mana chanter, stun them right next to you, that's a lot of pbaoe power you can unload onto them, i can't see any real way you couldnt kill someone if you managed to get the stun onto them, you DO use the stun right?

that stun is one of your most powerful spells as a hib caster, dont ignore it.

Yeh I used it a lot but usually when a single enemy was running away and I sprinted and stunned them, and then the tanks caught up and hacked him down while I light dd for 50 points

I don't get it, I was making a Light Enchanter, and put everyting into it, but my baseline at level 20 still did more damage????

At 24 the baseline kicks serious ass, and the spec line is still poorer??
Does speccing in light increase the base line as well?
Also PBAOE seems crap, I always get interrupted using it, never killed anyone with it, I know it delivers big damage to multiple enemy, but if your in the middle of two players one of them will always block your cast, in practice it seems useless, only any good if the enemy is distracted fighting tanks.

What is the point of the spec line in light, I never use it?

If you haven't kill anyone with pbaoe, don't blame the pbaoe, blame you're playing skills and find an experienced pbaoer and watch him in action...you're eyes will pop out

Same nuke as a light mentalist... but without crack and all the other mentalist goodies. Also it's 2.8s for spec nuke, 2.6s for base nuke.

Hmm, sure you were casting the right spec nuke? I've played light eld and mentalist and the spec nukes are far better than baseline if you have high light spec. More damage and less power used per nuke. Currently my level 28 spec dd does more damage than my level 33 base dd, and uses much less power to boot.

Yes, pbaoe kicks ass, specially if you are like Mythic and gave a 9 sec stun to a pbaoe class....
But lets not say that that specific class would be overpowered...
Cause wizards have also the same CC... oh wait.. they don't...

i mean, it's not their fault you didnt go hib and roll a full mana/rest light eldritch with pbaoe, single target str/con debuff, aoe str/con debuff, single target disease, aoe disease, single target snare DD, stun, aoe mezz, nearsight, two more baseline DD's with different damage types, dex/qui debuff, aoe attack speed debuff, bolt...

Yes... not so much because they do anything special but because there actually are so many, and I mean SO many, stupid tanks out there that won't realise what is about to happen when Elfs run up to them in that fashion, even slower at actually trying to do something about it.

Yeh true it's many stupid players that don't think of pbaoe, BUT, it's allso many stupid pbaoers who are to chicken shits to get their asses in middle of fight and kill. It's those I talk about. A good pbaoer should have a bit a of suicide instinct....have in mind that they might die very fast...but allso that they might kill like 8 peeps very fast too

Donno why it's so few theurgs, they are fun to play, had a air theug on US PvP, and they sure kick som serious butt!
