Can't you keep all these TN posts in one thread?

I agree with Clowneh (for a change). Its ok at home, with 1600x1200, but at work in 800x600, in a non-maximised window, I have to page down twice to see anything.

why make all those posts when its on the technation webpage actually?

i liked it when there was only 2-3 important stickies on the forum, you knew what was important, and you could see the issues quicker.

the worst is that i dont have a wheel mouse at work so i have to click + drag :(

tbh i was thinking the same thing... keep all of the news in one thing and have only the bare minimal stickied, thatway dont need to scroll for hours just to read teh forum

Consider it done :)

The main reason why all those threads were created, I believe, was to allow you some place to discuss the articles whilst the comments system is being implemented on the site. Anyway, I'll update the new thread appropriately as time permits.

As you may have noticed, things have gone a little quiet on the site of late, but fear not, there are plenty of new features planned, including the site updates that I really ought to be coding *whip crack* :)

Sincerest Regards

Edit ~ All the threads are still there, simply 'unstickied', should you wish to discuss the articles prior to the comments system being implemented

Actually the plan eventually is that article discussion threads will live in their own forum, but for the while the last 3-4 articles will exist as stickies at the top of this forum so as to direct hardware forum readers to the content on the site. Bear in mind that 'drivers and utilities' will soon be gone, as will bigfoots announcement.

I'll leave the existing ones unstickied, but new articles will be pimped in the previous manner.

Cheers,
Xav

But they are really annoying for small screen resolution people. Can you not leave them unsticky, and hassle DBS to get your sub-forum ASAP?

We don't want the sub forum for a few weeks yet, still drumming up the traffic figures to warrant it.

Once those other threads are removed, with 3 technation article pimps there will be as many 'stickies' up there as there are currently. What's the problem?

The Need Help, and the Drivers and Utilities threads are very useful. I'd be quite disappointed if they were removed from a forum which I still regard mainly as a tech support forum. If it was just the most recent article, that would be fine, it wouldn't take up too much space.

I just feel that the traffic on this forum had dropped off with all those stickies there. It seems slight, but the fact I had to page down twice to check the forum from work, made it quite annoying to do. The Halflife forum had the same problem a while ago, there were so many stickies that the live threads get buried.

Since I assume that the threads from the articles will be linked from technation, and Jonty has made a neatly laid out thread with the articles, I don't see the need any more. As the MX700 thread is showing, when the article creates interest, it floats to the top naturally.

I didn't mention the 'need help' sticky

and drivers & utilities is moving across to TechNation and will be maintained there, where more of the site staff will have the ability to keep it up to date.

The matter has been a point of a lot of discussion internally, and the 3 editors agreed that for the next few weeks it's the best way of pointing visitors to the forum back to the site and reviews.

We're only talking 3 weeks, 4 at most.

Xav.

I don't see what's wrong with having a separate thread for each of these notices. There was hardly any discussion about each review so far, and if it's a matter of actually seeing that there's a new review then the little blue arrow will tell us that you have added to it.
