Cant play daoc anymore :/

I have just got my new nice computer, u thought. Then when i try to install daoc everything is fine, but when i want to play, i cant. First i couldnt even download latest patches, when i double clicked on the icon, it just didnt do anything. Then sometimes ive got in, and when im about to download the patches it suddenly says "program not answering" and i have to quit... but it got some of the pacthes i have to download, and i thought like ohh well then ill just keep on going untill ive got it all. But no, when i got into daoc it was soooo laggy and i got 10mb internet connection (wireless, works fine with everything except for daoc) and i got a pentium 4. (windows xp, newest updates) I simply dont understand why i cant play daoc?? someone please help me!
