Can't log onto Account

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can advise me on what's happening.

Yesterday I was playing my Account, I went into Sundered Tombs with my 50 Icer, played him for a while (until 5:15pm GMT) then decided to log off for a rest.
At 6:23PM GMT I decided to log back on to sort out my ML 10 sorcs template, which is on the same account as my Icer. When I tried to log on I had a window appear saying that it was the wrong password or account name,when I checked this, all the detaile were correct so I tried again with the same results. I then went to the "Right Now" page to check "My Stuff" but when I put my login details in, it told me that they were even wrong so I decided to request a new login password, when I rquested the said Password it told me that me e-mail address wasn't registered on their data base.

I will add at this point that no one has or knows my login details as I don't believe in sharing those details. I am so lost as to what has happened. This is my last resort. Can anyone advise me as to what has happened or even better, how to rectify this.

Your DAOC account is linked to a hotmail (or other common web based free mail service) ?

thanx scorge but i haven't opened any fake e-mail from goa at all, the only thing is, i have a hotmail account,which is linked to said account, can u advise on how to sort this out plz ?

You dont need to open any emails.

As per the other thread, if someone managed to gain access to your hotmail account they can just run through the process of getting a new password and changing the details to a state you described above.

Take the same steps imo, contact GoA with all the information.

sounds like either ur pc has been hacked or you have a weak password on the hotmail account. always make important passwords at least 8 chars long and containing at least 1 uppercase char, 1 number and 1 symbol.

mates hotmail got cracked, the password was angela ;(

more likely he had a security question of "what is my favourite colour?" and an answer that wasn't something really obscure like:

Q: "What is my favourite colour?"
A: "Space ships on fire off the shores of orion."

though dictionary attacks are probably easy enough.

That or if you have 2 accounts - sure you dont use them both on the same PC and you havent tried to log in one account whilst using the other accounts password? I have done that before now and the ole ass has twitched for a second before I realised what I had done...

Lets hope its something that simple anyway

Just to let you all know. I have my account back. Got it back last night (Thanks to Requiel)

I would like to say a very big thank you though to Demon2K3 if it wasn't for him I would have never got it back. All my Passwords are now protected and i've changed my e-mail address + put an extra safe password on it (that hard I can't even remember it lol)
