Can't hear any sound in DAoC...

I've got a serious problem. Few days ago I had installed the 7 day US trial version of DAoC. I was playing that for the last 3 days but I couldn't hear any sound. I checked the settings, everything is set to full. I've tried to turn the sound off then back on etc, but still not any sound...No combat sound, no music, no ambient sound effect really nothing...Meanwhile, I can just listen to the online radio so my soundcard works alright. I've tried contacting a CSR ingame but he said that I needed to call customer support (I'm talking about the US version of the game). I thought ok fine, think it's a corrupt installation from fileplanet or something else so didnt pay much attention to it.

Now, I've reactivated my EU account of DAoC and wanted to play a bit. But to my surprise the sound of the EU version doesn't work either! I've just installed DAoC today so shouldnt be a problem with the files. Now that I think about it, the sound in Fifa 2005 didnt work either. Sound in Sims 2 works alright tho. So think it has something to do with directx or some other files?

What I'm running:

*Windows Xp SP2
*Soundblaster Live 5.1 Player
*I've got the latest SB Live drivers installed (they're from 2003 but they're the latest)
*I've got the latest DirectX 9.0 installed (think it's 9.0c)
*This problem occured after I had formatted my pc and reinstalled windows.

I really hope someone can help me. I've tried reinstalling the latest sound drivers but still same problem. Also tried reinstalling directx but it didnt reinstall for some reason. It's really annoying that I can't hear any sound, and yes I've checked all the settings in-game 10x but all sounds are turned on.

Any help and suggestion would be much appreciated. Since I've got the same problem with Fifa 2005, I don't think it's a DAoC specific problem. The strange thing is tho, the sound in The Sims 2 works fine (or atleast, worked fine till I installed Fifa 2005. I haven't played The Sims 2 after I had installed Fifa so can be that fifa has caused some corrupt files? I've uninstalled both Fifa and Sims so I can't test wether sound in Sims 2 works or not...)

Ahh nevermind fixed it...I had installed a program called "TotalRecorder". Its an application that can record streams and stuff. Anyway, that shitty app had set himself as the primary sound device. My creative soundcard was set to secundary. This was resulting in the sound being software emulated by that shitty app. Because DAoC and other games need a hardware accelerated soundcard, the sound didn't work. So I've uninstalled that shitty app and everything works alright now. Thanks for your attention and people with same problem remember looking at the apps you've installed lately ;).
