Can't even give GOA

After 3 months absence I decided to reactivate my account and buy TOA. After six weeks waiting TOA didn't turn up, so I asked for help from Mythic......

It's amazing that you can't buy the game in the UK.

We are aware that there are some serious issues with obtaining the game in the UK and we are in the process of trying to sort out new distributors and we do apologise for this.

Beyond that there isn't a whole lot I can say as there is nothing we in this office can do to get a game to you other than report the problems that are reported to us which we have done...

You could try them - they're who I get all my daoc stuff from.

It's not GOA's fault if game stores choose not to stock a product. No amount of distrubution is going to be solved by Game, EB etc simply not stocking daoc.

Downloadable - and buy CD KEYS online - would be a vast improvement, think of the people who already have the game and have been thinking ab out getting a buffbot account or similar - but cant find the game to buy so resoty to ebay.

As the reply states it is something we are aware of and are trying to get fixed... but until that point there is another way to do it.

Buy a French or German version of the game and install it. Go into the directory for whichever client you are using (classic SI ToA) and delete the language folder. From there open the update.dat file with any text editor and change the language in the url ie. french or german to english and save. The next time you log into the game you'll get a small patch but there you go everything is in English.

It isn't optimal by a longshot but it's something.

Thanks for the tip almost got TOA! www.swallowgames.com said they had two left this morning at £19.99 but sold both and won't be able to get hold of any more... but said I could buy the Gold Pack at £29.99 a copy ( I need 2)..... umm not sure I'm desperate enough to pay £20 extra!
