cant connect to a server!

any time i try to connect to a server that i specify the address it wont connect.it just shoots me over to that screen where theres numbers counting and it says waiting to connect.but it can count for over 15 minutes and still no connection!now i do only run quake with the minum install so i have to have the cd in to play,but that shouldnt matter. im wanting a good server with new maps and all.got any sugestions and a good servers ip address?

What sort of message is it giving if you pull down the console when its waiting to connect?

id were moving offices so this could be the problem. Otherwise we need to know what it was saying when it was attempting to connect.

check ur cd-key and try other servers, if you still can't connect it might be worth contacting id themselves with the problem.

i didnt pull the consol down.but ill try it again today some time.......
