Just taken this in my front room, its shite I know but it does stand a fair amount of zoom (original file jpg size was 2.5mb)

Considering how little light there was, it does seem to render the dark areas with minimal noise. I'm impressed.

Windy night, so ISO1000 makes it a bit noisy, plus the wind makes it a bit soft. Montage of about 4 photos (adjusting for exposure for headlamps, sky, brakes).

£500, tricky one that.

For the same money you could get a brand new 300D with the 18-55 lens, or if you were willing to spend £200 more you could get a brand new 10D.

It wouldn't be an easy choice for me anyway...

Yeah, I can sell the lens for £50 (don't need it), so thats £450, with about 5-6 filters and a 256mb cf card. The EOS300D is about 600 new, its got a few nicer features (faster AF although I don't need that), but its plastic - the 60D is magnesium.

Dammit, I really don't want to spend £500 on a camera, but its in mint condition, and I can get my snaps in 7 seconds rather than 7 days.....

These guys have the 300D with the 18-55 lens for £569. I think if you buy a 300D before Jan 31st and register with Canon they give you £100 cashback and a 256meg cf card free, so you're only pay £469 for the 300D.

Tempting stuff, but as you say the D60 is magnesium and comes with a few filters for only £500....

Decisions decisions!

I'm going to ask him to reduce the price to about £425, otherwise I won't buy it. It is in absolutely pristine condition, not a mark anywhere and I know the guy well, he keeps his gear in perfect condition.

Shutter runs up to 4000 Ch3t, 3000 2000 1500 1000 750 500 350 250 180 125 90 60 45 30 20 15 10 8 6 4 and then you're into the fractions of seconds, max without a bulb is 30 secs.

Think I will Waz, all depends on the size of my overdraft, the size of my next paycheck and my spontaneous buying level at the time.

Seeing as I have sponteanesouly spent a lot over the last few months, I may need to stop.

Bought it for £450, funding it by selling my neg scanner (£200), my Sony DSC-s85 (£100 - see ebay thread in general), a 50mm lens (probably £50), and maybe my 1968 mono White Album - should be worth £150-£200.
