Is it true if you download stuff where you eventually have to pay some money for it, i.e. ASE; if you say you are in Canada they have to give it to you for free?

That's what I thought... My flatmate said if you tick your country as Canada they have to give you whatever for free; I thought bollox but thought I'd check here in case someone had tried it...

The scanners always work (instead of just at off-peak times) and you have an unlimited buddy list.

I bought it and it's worth it tbh.

ASE: The only bit of shareware I've ever paid for.

Because it's so great it hurts.
The difference between paying and non-paying is that you are not limited to staking only 4 buddies, and the scanners give subscribers priority (so you can scan at any time, non-subs can get "server busy" messages).

And also I am willing to pay to support people that make such great (and spyware free) software like this. There are about 3 updates a week, and new games are suppported withing hours of release (if not before).
And you get to see how evil Gamespy are, by getting exclusivity on the master reporting server.. EVIL.

Edit- Clown, you are wrong. It may always have worked for you so far, but it deffers doesn't always work for non subs. Before paying I used to get it on the odd occasion (usually between 7-10pm) and got the scanner overload msg.

Then do as I do. Pick a random guy, and follow him everywhere. Everytime he joins a server, follow him. And just stand next to him. Not moving, not acnowlegding him, not saying anything or doing anything. don't engage the enemy, just stand next to him.

You'd be amazed how insanely mad people get. I've been shouted at, sworn at etc.
Once the guy even got an admin to come in and ban me!

I laughted so hard I cried.

Then his name appeared on ase, with the "BONG" I've made it do when he joins. And the chase continued.
