can wine stop u from sleeping

So i went out last night to see the Illusionist, except that it was fully booked so me and a friend decided to go to a couple of bars. we ended up drinking wine for the whole night, i didnt get particularly pissed but prolly had atleast a bottle each i guess. Anyway i get home at 2am, and im realllly tired as it was 4th night in a row going out and i was really lacking sleep and had gotta be up for work at 6'30

Anyway, I woke up in middle of night at 3'30, then again at 4 and 4 30 5'00 and then 5'30 and then 6'00, at which point i thought fuck it and got up and did random stuff. I didnt feel tired each time i woke up and my mind was racing and thinking so much, but now im fucking exausted.

Any1 had similar experiences or any explanation for this

i get that wine either knocks me right out or i start buzzing abut, its something about alcohol being a stimulant anyway so according to the ammount you drink this affects the way youll sleep, last time i drank almost a bottle of wine was halloween and i couldnt sleep well at all that night so from now on if i do any drinkin its not late at night.

I find that after I've been on the piss, and gotten very, very drunk, I tend to wake up at random times in the night untill I get up and drink a pint or more or water. After that I seemt to sleep easier, so I would hazard a guess that the reason you keep waking up has something to do with you being dehydrated.

I'm not exactly an expert though!

i dont i always get very very sick when i get home if i have been drinkign a bottle of vodka so takes like 1 or 2 hours before i can sleep..

Everytime I go out drinking till I'm wasted I sleep so good. Never wake up until my alarm goes off.

Altho Saturday I drank 4 "Blonde Leffes" and a friend off mine had alot of problems.. he explained them to me. When I got home I was so tired but I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about it. Searching ways to fix his problems. Was really strange.

But anyway If you drink enough you will sleep steady :d

anyone else get the dry horrors? (especially after wine/beer and a chinese) you wake up at like 3am and it feels like your mouths got glue in it... like that time i accedentally ate some pritt stick and when you drink some water to make your mouth taste better it (the water) tastes metallic..

"Night of the lizards" as they say in finland. Just awful.

Can't sleep, sleep a bit, panic, tremors.

But i doubt you got a hangover mid-night

Hmm in Madrid its not uncommmon to go out at 1am hehe, but normally start evening at 11.30 or summin and finish at 7-8.

ahhh ok! Was gonna say, I can sup a bottle of wine with the starter and main course at a meal. 2 large glasses and the bottles nearly gone! Cant beat a good bottle of Jacobs Creak Chardonay
