Can we have a server with Assault2k on please.

i have started playing more on UK2 for assualt2k cos, it rocks, but i mean UK2 is crap in comparison to BW (which did you know "barrysworld" is a swear word on their servers?) the ping is rediculous even on ADSL, so can we please have assault2k.

if you wanna add other levels like militia2k on or preferbly cs_thunder then i would love it, but i need a good assault2k server.

Non standard map servers are always good fun. AWP maps are OK in moderation as well

Custom maps servers arent very popular and the hardware could be put to better use imo ;)

TFC custom map servers have been unsuccesfull but then thats TFC and I personally would give a custom map CS server a go aslong as it had other regular users .

I dont see why BW couldnt do an experimental custom map server unless ofcourse its been done and failed ?

Its been done and failed, two custom servers at one point, both completely unused.

As I stated a while back, we may look into a classic map (not really custom) server, but wait till after the IP changes take place.

I'm already worrying about cs 1.4 and the new levels it may introduce, its took me 6 months to get used to the 1.3 maps(new ones and old)because i'd not played it before 1.3, i did like survivor though.

It takes me a few rounds for me to get use to a map, but that fuckin Chateau one on 1.4 is fuckin huge, took a while to get use to it :p

D0lly will you please stop the endless pimping of foption. On a side note i wouldnt mind playing one of those jailbreak maps, i cant remember the proper name for them but the maps like trinity were kinda cool and a little different from hossie or bomb maps. Just a thought

ive never played on an "escape" map before, altho i do have es_jail on my computer somewhere, just not in my CS Map dir

escape was never very popular , seeming as on publics it would usaully end in the cts having target practise with the ts who would have few useful weapons (ts didnt buy guns they stole them from a room) plus if you seriously didnt hurry at the begining of the round as a t all you would be left with was a few flash bangs and maybe a shotgun

i don't think more maps would be effective. if you can download assault2k map from barrysworld that 'd be great but the way i see it, ppl don't go on custom servers cos they have to download maps each time. but with just assault2k it would be fine

anyone realise how popular assualt2k servers are on UK2, even with the legendary UK2 shite ping??? BIG always full, so please BW make a ASSAULT2K SERVER

There are plenty of assult2k server around so you dont need BW to set one up. I'm not sacrificing a whole server to one map, good or bad (and my opinion about assualt2k is best left cencesored).

3)i have gamespy and i ran search for assault2k in britan....i count 3/4, so plenty i think not. if you can find me any more i would be greatful ch3tan

err, im sure that demanding stuff aint going to make it happen. Personally, I like the old classic assault better. I think you got more chance of a seperate custom map server being set up than just adding it to the cs map cycle sonshine.

You've probably never seen me play CS, I have played assault2k loads, its a dissapointing attempt IMO that is no where near the brilliance of the original.

Sacrifice: No it is because we have few servers as it is, and devoting one server to one map makes no sense at all.

Escape was the dogs bollox.

It was rare that the maps played out as Fur suggests.

Mainly because of the different routes, and not every elite m4 weilding ct could cover every route out, thus some handy flanking was allways dished out to mr all powerfull ct.

Escape maps played out better than most, it's was less choke point based, and more roam around in small groups having short fire fights.

Weird realy as you would have thought that all most would do is camp the exit points. Sometimes that did happen, but more of than not it didn't:)

The only bad thing about the maps was the small point they gave to enter the weps stash at the start, if it was a melly (most of the time) it was a nightmare if the ct's had a quick rushing route, a'la (sadly) 'Es_Jail'


Imho not liked by all, some people i guess prefer the quick rush, choke point battles (most):( Escape was prolly the best of the CS invovations in gametypes.

In terms of teamplay it promoted it more than any other gametype, and more often than not it actually took place. Like i said the small roaming group battles were great:)

Favourite map for me remains 'Jail'

The map prolly the most suited to the gametype 'Frantic'

loved frantic, a great map for some fine action.

Shame Escape died realy, back to the choke points you go:eek:
