The fact that everyone in ODI's or shorter games seem to go for the other team to bat first these days...

But you fail to mention the good test performances against the Windies or NZ

Still, a point proven again when England batted first againt the Windies and lost the other day.

Checked out the stats...in 22 ODI's, England have batted first in 9 and lost all 9 of those, in the other 13 they batted second and won all 13!

Pretty definitive trend.
