Can Seers solo?

I was just checking the Healer's abilities, and although they look like the perfect group-class(Buffs, Heals, Res, Running Buff and Mezz), I didn't notice any offensive abilities. So, is it possible to solo level one?

Almost the same with Shamans, are their DoTs potent enough to help them solo?

Yes but its slow to do so. Far better and easier (unfortuntaly not on prydwen as there isnt always a good range of levels on) for a much needed support class like those two to get a group. Heal obviously has to spec high pac line and shaman cave line though.

Well, it depends on a shaman I guess. Soloing a shaman at low levels is actually very easy and fast. Can do yellows easily. Low oranges at some stages. Killing process itself is much slower than with a melee char. But there is no downtime to speak of - you can always heal yerself after the battle.

As I haven't pu a single point into cave, I can't say how much the DoT helps. Quite high in aug, so I can use me hammer.

At later levels, I suspect it isn't viable to solo anymore. Some say, after level 35 shaman abilities don't scale that well.

Yeah, healers can solo. Just remember to put some points in the aug line to get some damage add and you'll do fine. I soloed one healer from lvl 1 to 9 the first day, killing yellow mostly.

Well, you have to sacrifice mend and pac line for the first 40 lvls or so if you want to be able to solo efficiently. Thus making you not so popular in groups perhaps...

I'm a level 34 shaman and have spent an load of time soloing. I'm mainly specced in cave, but have enough in mending to get friggs and a little in aug to get a few half decent buffs.

The damage add is crap. Plain rubbish. The other buffs are good though.

As for the effectiveness of cave magic, I quite like it. Don't expect to solo oranges though. Greens, simple, hit 'em wi' hammer. Blues, bolt, poison, friggs on self, hit with hammer. My poison does as much damage as my hammer hits and friggs really helps lessen the amount of damage you take. Yellows are slightly more involved. Bolt, root, bolt, root, disease, bolt, poison, friggs self, hit with big lump of metal.

This means that each yellow take about 2 minutes to kill, with the first minute waiting for your bolt spell to recharge.

I specced in mending first to group friggs and then got aug up. Only got cave up when I started rvr in earnest - now about 26, 37, 29 plus buffs. I'm quite happy with this spec atm.

With my base skills (points in strength so very low dex/ qui) I found it hard to solo yellows up until level 46 and then overnight I could suddenly do it, even without kiting (some high level yellows do kill me though). It is slow though. Much quicker to get XP in a group. And oranges are still an unfulfilled dream

With my spec I get about 50 dmg per tick with dot, anything from 50 to 150 on bolt, and anything from a pathetic 70 to 150 plus crit and proc with hammer. Damage add is about 25 per tick and fungal case an even more pathetic 4 or 5 per tick. Disease obviously doesnt dmg add, but is worth doing as it decreases misses.

The best is to buff yourself up with everything. Particularly the Shadow's wisdom - (will decrease casting time by a small amount). It is only now that I can get jumped by a blue and still beat it (e.g. in Malmo) without going through the bolt, root, disease, poison, friggs routine. A yellow jumps me, and I run as fast as my little troll legs will carry me.

Imho shammies will be a much more viable class after 1.50 when, according to DAOC- Shaman, they will get pbaoe and area root. Probably no instas though which is the biggest failing.
