Why on earth can AF be capped???

I play a paladin, the greatest strenght in a paladin is his defensive survivability (well, would kinda help when they get that shield bug fixed too :) ). with af chant, heal chant, shield and parry they can survive a fair bit of combat.

now here comes the odd part - I never really noticed it till recently:
I get my epic armour, at con 100% my AF was 670, at con (on average pr. part) 93%, my AF is 670. kinda weird imo that the equipment at its very best 100% doesnt offer better protection than when it´s been beaten up a lot.

and heres what amazes me the most, with 670 in AF, and maxed, I can use my aura of invincibility (self shield buff to increase AF), for the AMAZING amount of ..... 0
what is that all about, all of a sudden the pally has a chant thats supposed to help a great deal with survivability, that doesnt do anything what so ever.

A known paladin problem.

From 1.52 release notes:

- All "clerical" (i.e. Healer, Shaman, Druid, Bard, Warden, Friar, Paladin, Hunters, Rangers and Cleric) baseline armor factor buffs are now assessed "outside the cap". In situations where you were at your armor factor cap, and had one of these buffs on you, you would have gotten no additional armor factor, but now with this change, you will. There is currently a display problem where this additional armor factor is not being displayed, but it is being assessed.

As Draylor said :
The personal shield buff will be fixed eventually.

It will be fixed but maybe the amount it adds will be rather small at 50.

The true power comes from the AF chant (I get the impression that people really started to like that one) which easily gets you to 850+.

Will also be nice to see them stack with other AF buffs.
