Camping of apk "true story"

This is really a response to the stop camping the apk thread but it got to long to be posted in the way in the back of a thread wich no one reads.

Here is a word for all you albs, courage and fun. You albs put it on yourself when you dont come out and play.. This is my view on the RvR out there atm..

About 3 different mid groups where roaming around emain not connected to eachother in anyway except for a loose cg or something... Atleast 2 of em where random groups... at apk i counted more then 26 albs visible outside.. thats more then 3fg.. still albs dont move out.. Either in single group or in zerg. I dont really know how your realm works but in my eyes a albgroup thats not "opted" wont move out because of chance of loosing a battle.. Move out have some fun, so what you loose a fight you port back move out again perhaps someone log you pick up another character and perhaps all the sudden you got a opted setup and start owning out there..

The game is about having fun not about owning wich seems to be the current mental attitude in albion if you ask me..

Well albs stay apk they dont dare to go out so instead the mid groups we can call em x y z does runs close to apk.. resulting in what you people call apk camping... The albs are farmed over and over again cause they cant seem to get there heads straight.. Often see 1fg mids killing about 2fg albs running around like dizzy chickens close to apk.. so when does this all end. 5-6 groups of albs zergs out, dont really know if you where all grouped or just ran out hitting and nuking everything you see.. GG zerging..

I´ll also like to at the hibs who really are the ones making the RvR in emain funny these days.. they die come back, die comeback. kills some mids and albs die and comeback.. they got the long way to get there to and still they come back so /salute Hibbies for making the fun!

And oh I´ve been flamed of adding alot on irc and so on.. its basicly this, I generally scout and report to the different mid groups running around there.. i tell em where the albies and hibbies are and in return i get little nice pm like "get your bow ready to add moving in on hibs amg". Its great fun, really! especially primetime hours when its hard for a hunter to solo because of infils+ minstrel groups out there.. And bye the way i play 60% of my playtime with Feg using teamspeak its great fun, recommend it to all. 20% i solo usually mornings or late nights the rest 20% im found in stealth groups with about 3-4 players. More then trio i find lame but hey sometimes its really called for.. for example when ds is out roaming around.. now start the flaming

We ran 1 guild fg on monday night. When we got there there was a fair few random albs in the vicinity of apk id say approx 15 albs, not doing a great deal just roaming near the front of apk just over the lip of the hill where the amadans alps are. We decided sod it lets go for a run, who cares if we get owned, initially we encountered a few hib stragglers between apk/amg, when we arived at amg the hib zerg was there approx 3 fg we started to put up a fight, we killed a few but the numbers were starting to tell and a few of us fell, by this time the randoms had followed us down and helped clear up the rest of the hibs, a couple of mid grps turned up just as the hibs had died and we were rezing, luckily we were not caught off guard and the mids were dispatched. At this time we decided to run of on our own and ran off toward dc then to mmg, we encountered a couple of mid groups (seperate grps not a mid zerg) and sent them back to middyland, nr mmg we encountered approx 3fgs (initially 1fg, then a mini zerg adding). We couldnt hold as by this time we were oom no instas ras etc and were easy meat for the overwhelming numbers. We came back a couple of times again as 1 guild grp but couldnt even get to amg due to 5fgs running around in the area (not all as 1 i might add, but as soon as a fight started the rest turned up).

The point of this story is that, to all the mids saying albs need to show more testicular fortitude and come down from apk, I say LOL!!!!! Some of us try but no matter how good you think you are, overwhelming numbers of organised opposition will prawn you.

We may return soon we may not depends if we can get to amg without being trampled.

I dont blame you for camping apk cos at the moment it is just about the only place where there is any rvr and cos u got no playable toa there aint a hell lot more to do, just back off from the keep and let us get to amg

first off, im not an alb, second, ive seen alb buffbots halfway down the hill before.

this is how it looks from my perspective, either as an alb on the hill or a stealther having a look around:

group x mids passes in range of apk, kills one or two poor sods who just left without realising mids were that close. group x then leaves apk and goes somewhere else.

30 seconds gap

group y mids turns up at apk, has a look, kills one or two who ventured too far out, runs out of view again

30 seconds gap

group z mids turns up at apk, has a look, kills one or two who ventured too far out, runs out of view again

by this time, group x has decided there might be more people out of apk to pick off, so comes back again...

now lets say you as an alb have been watching this, you get your fg ready and attack say group y when they get near apk, kill some maybe, but then group z turns up, either lured by the deathspam or just cos they happened to be passing through. Then group x turns up as well, for the exact same reasons. You die to 3fg (unsurprisingly), half your group says "bloody zerg" and logs/goes to ToA.

Granted, makes you wonder what's really going on. (bb's? AFKs? Guild groups? Alliance groups? You don't really know unless you're in the realm). However, with 3 fgs of mids running around, do you really think that people will go out with their almost-except-for-2-spots FGs?

There, you don't really know how the Alb realm (or even any enemy realm?) works, yet you make this gross assumption. Wether you're right or wrong, I don't know, but I can imagine that the fact that there are 3 fgs zerging the alb side of emain may have something to do with it.

It's a mental attitude on Prydwen (or DAoC/europe, or maybe even DAoC worldwide) really. This morning, a lot of your mid buddies were zerging APK even when there was only 1fg of Albs mustering, and no healers. We didn't get owned once, nor twice, nor thrice, no, we got owned four times. That's a lot of fun for all the players involved</sarcasm>.
