Camping dead people (RvR)

Does this make any sense to anybody out there?

I go to the battlegrounds to kill the enemy (which is fun). If the enemy is dead, I cant kill them, so I have no fun. So, when the enemy is dead, I want them to be alive again so that the cycle can continue.

There are two ways to achieve this (my favourite is first)

1. Pull back and let the enemy rez them.
2. Stand on their bodies, dancing or jumping up and down and force the enemy to release, at which point either: a) They will log or b) They will spend the next 20 minutes running back to the portal, sitting down while whoever comes to teleport them to the BG, and finally waiting around for the other members of the group to find them.

Personally, I dont like sitting on a bridge for 20 minutes while this happens - am I the only one who feels like this?

good point there actually, but then again we can all agree theres nothing like a bit or dwarf stomping after a victory :)

True - theres nothing like revelling in a victory after a good battle. But, camping goes too far. I've been there and people sat and watched the enemy release cause we were camping them, then we all just sat around for ages with nothing to do!

In emain the cycle tends to move a lot quicker, as you're killing people in emain there's already another group porting in so it makes sense to camp their bodies so they don't get too many people and overwhelm you.

Forgive my ignorance - I have heard of Emain but must confess that I aint sure exactly what it is...

Perhaps (if it isnt a battleground) the problem I am talking about predomenantly exists with the BG's...

Emain Macha (Emain for short) is the outermost frontier area of Hibernia. It's where Midgard and Albion have their portal keeps to Hibernia and is where most of the casual RvR on the server happens.

In that case it would seem that the problem is potentially a greater issue in the BG then?

Emain is where us Hibs kick all your Albs, and any silly Mids who appear, back to their own realms on a regular basis :)

Hurry up and level guys, so you can experience it

As for camping the bodies, the only class that now benefits from camping bodies is stealthers, as non-stealthers can be seen to be camping the bodies. Also, it is usually faster the /release, heal, and port back than it is to wait for an army to come, scare away those camping your bodies, get ressed, and wait for res sickness to go away.

Exactly my point - its quicker and takes ages right? Unless u are a bard or something to run fast.

Bah we got to emain for a nice bit of golf, but the mids and hibs think it's their golf course and try to stop us playing and steal our pie. They're mean. :(

But yes generally by the time you have gotten res, waited for res sickness etc. you might as well have released and ported back.

well, thats bcos the albs can get to castle sauvage from cotswold / prydwen bridge in a matter of minutes

By the time we get to our portal keep from nearest convenient bind point, rez sickness is gone... and we still have to wait for the damn gothi's to come and port os

Your Long journeys are gone after 1.52,

As they add a Bind Stone Right next to the portal Pad,
But they don't add a healer

It rules, Get killed release be there soon as you get ported

For us mids thers normaly a single chat group in the 20-24 BG, when weve had a spout of killing hibs/albs someone will always say...

Pull back to bridge, let them rezz

or something similar, Ok so im guilty a few times of jumping on dead albs, but normaly there people I know from when i played alb.

I know its frustrating and so do most other mids, so hopefully you will see us back off.

I was in there yesterday - respect to Mid :)

They did indeed pull back to the bridge to allow us to (mostly) rez our dead, although a couple did auto release (I was the only cleric!). And to whoever the two stealthers are that tried to nail me while i was sitting down waiting for pow to rez - better luck next time :)

For your information, we also pulled back to allow rezzes :) It was great to see!

Yes and no. In Emain, this is more or less normal behaviour, not an issue. Camping bodies can serve many purposes. If enemy releases quickly, it is likely they do not have dangerous forces nearby. If they dont release, it may mean they have a resser nearby, possibly a larger force. Let the enemy res a dead one, you then have 2 enemies to worry about. Better stay close to the corpse, then kill resser and his escort. General logic is more on those lines.

And certainly the Realm points bonus on them decreases.
