Camlann Character Transfer

Ive been playing camlann a while now and the population is going down a bit and i would like to know what you think on charater transfer to another server
so moving a character from camlann to a RvR server. 2 main pvp zones and not much 8v8 action going on so..

Not that 8v8 action on Cluster is amazing anyway ...

The main problem with that is now and then Camlan seems to have a surge of players - if you let people leave it would probably kill it off completely.

It will never happen but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't. Camlann has been a white elephant for years now, allowing character transfers would be throwing a lifeline to people who have invested alot of time effort on the PvP server. Personally I think Camlann needs putting to sleep permanently, over 3 years ago we sacrificed any chance of ever getting a 3rd english server when we accepted a poorly thoughtout PvP ruleset as our 3rd server. From day 1 the PvP ruleset has been poorly supported by Mythic and there has been absolutely no innovation as to how the PvP server works. Mythic quickly realised it wasn't going to work out well with thier implmentation but they didn't have the balls to pull the plug, so instead the PvP servers have been left in limbo for over 3 years and have never become anywhere near as popular as expected.

Would be nice as then you could have access to all 3 realms
/charcopy to Camlann would be nice aswell, ToA on the "normal" server(s) so you can do that without hassle and then copy to Camlann.

It should work both ways or it wouldn't be fair. And it'd have to be charcopy not charmove

Tho I think it might ruin it for the PvP server for the people that still love it as everyone may leave. Or vice versa.

Character migration will never happen as it would kill off certain servers completely. Take Glastonbury for example, the heavy french population on there now means that english speaking players often have difficulty finding an english speaking BG in RvR, as a result the population is reletively low, allowing people to migrate to say Pry/Excal would kill most of the english speaking players making the server completely redundent. Same sort of thing would happen in camlann.

Someone made a good point about this a long while back, it may have been Svartmetal.

What you'll find is the rvr players with their greater wealth (on average) and ease of xp/ml's will take their uber chars and then transfer them to camlann.

Most people will be ok but the players with low funds or little pve strength will just get steamrolled.

Many people in this thread have already pointed out the major community/population problems this would cause if it ever did become possible.

Maybe in theory some halfway could be reached. Just transfer over their current level and wealth, maybe some other traits. Suppose it could cause at least a temporary burgeoning of the population on PvP.
