If you get any calls from 020 7580 1023 DO NOT ANSWER IT

Ive been getting calls last couple of days and just found out so far 8 of my mates have too

Its a company called Paparazzi who say you have won a photo shoot for free and try getting deposit money from you.

Its weird so many of my mates are getting these calls this week, all i can think of is they got our numbers from a mate, perhaps hacked phone or something else and getting all our numbers

Chile

According to that its also the Consular number at the Chilean embassy.

Very odd, a google brings up several results and complaints.

And another number i cant place at the moment, it seems to be a forwarding company that patches you through once you pick up

Everyone of my mates have had the Paparazzi company answer, it doesnt pick up right away but puts you through to on hold music

After routing around i have found 11 of my mates now (including me) who have had this phonecall. I now found out they got our numbers from 2 mates who went for a photoshoot last week. They gave our number so they could get a discount on a photoshoot

Livid is not the word to describe how i feel. I fucking hate people giving my number out to anyone without my express permission!!

Ive had 5 calls from them now since yesterday lunchtime

I dislike scammers and con-men as much as the next guy, but honestly, if people fall for this stuff you really have to wonder what - if anything - is going on upstairs?

The "I'll give you something if you give me something first" scam is as old as time itself and it's really time that people stopped falling for it.

And as much as I hate it, I have to wonder if this isn't part of natural selection at work - survival of the strong over the weak, clever over the stupid.

Dont get me wrong, I really do feel for the old & naive people who really don't know any better, but most people shouldnt really have an excuse to be falling for this.

Like I say, really have no love for scammers but I dislike fools just as much, if not more.

I wonder where data protection stands on your number being given out by your friends? It's even more irritating than people giving your email away.

I'd now proceed to use this printing company to produce some classy escort service cards, with the phone numbers of your two cretin mates advertised. Then stick them up all over Soho.

I get the AA ringing me all the time after a call out. They're like a pitbull. They ring 4 times a day until you answer them.
