I fancy a raid of this sacred place, as I have yet to visit ;) I am just out for good fun with maybe some nice drops along the way. The way I would like to do it is if Echekiel/Aligro can lead (as you are good mate, and you've been there before whereas I haven't). How is Saturday 14:00 (2pm) GMT for everyone, and is this enough notice? As I'm hoping someone else will lead the raid (and I am trying to organise it) I would like to make the drop sharing as follows:
As/when drop drops give it to me then as soon as we are in a safe (non-aggro) place it will be lottoed. The rules for lottoing are that you can only lotto if you can use the item, and /random 100 will be used and the highest number wins.

If all are ok with this I will try and organise everything for 14:00 (2pm) GMT at Gotwaite Harbour. We will not wait longer than 15 minutes. Please be on time! If you can come with a balanced group then do so if not tell me if you are ungrouped and I will try to organise them. Level 45 and above only please, otherwise you will hold up the zerg with deaths etc. This means level 45 and above, not 44 or 44.5, but 45 or above. Please :)

Is this all right? All suggestions will be thought about carefully, as this is the first raid I have arranged I want to get things right so please tell me if I am doing anything wrong ;)

Suggest you consider meeting at Fort Gwyntell rather than gothwaite.

You will have to go through gwyntell anyway, and you'll find several groups will form at gwyntell wherever you actually tell them to meet ;) .

the way i see it is.. you're trying to move in on my territory..

j/k

anyhoo.. i suppose i could use some help recruiting people so we could do it together?..

but i'd like to have some responsible people this time.... so if Gms could let us know here if their guilds can attend and that you can bring people who are ok to stick the whole length of the raid

most r crap yeah which kinda eliminates one of the main reasons to "raid".

but there's still the fun factor (i think) of exploring new places, new mobs etc.

just a thought....caer sidi raids take hours and when you stop after every drop to lotto it out between 150 ppl it will take ages.
gather drops and lotto them afterwards or next day or something, but not down there.

It doesn't take ages, all that happens is that I yell out stats, any that want them /random 100 near me, highest gets it, and we move on, 1 minute at most. The thing with doing them at the end or the next day or something is that not everyone will be on, if you do them at the end many people will have left along the way, and if we die will be bound at different points etc and I don't want to be waiting around for people to turn up to a lotto. So doing it this way is easiest.

And what gunz said about the point of the 'raid', as I said at the beginning, the point for me is to explore and have fun :)

Stuff that drops in sidi NOW gets improved in a patch or two. Anything that's good in 1.60 will be good to get now...
You don't have to go and re-get the drop in 1.60.

Only problem is Tilda, some people will have work on Saturday, some will work on Sunday, and some will work both. I chose to do it on Satuday as I think that is when _most_ people will be available. Maybe a Sunday raid the week after, for all the people who work on Saturdays? :)

In order to compete with Shrouded Isles items, future item drops and quest rewards level 40+ will now come into existence with the magic bonus appropriate to the item's level, instead of the magic bonus that corresponds to the material from which it is made. Previously, the magic bonus was capped at 25% in most instances because the objects are made from their respective 8th level material type. As for Darkness Falls vendor items, the sapphire seal equipment will now have a 25% magic bonus, and the diamond seal equipment will have a 30% magic bonus. This change to the magic bonus for old world items DOES NOT apply to existing objects already in a player's inventory at the time of the patch...it applies only to future drops, future finished quests, and future DF vendor purchases.
The old world "uber rare" objects have had their magic bonuses upgraded to comply with current standards. These objects are the 90% quality ones you rarely see dropping in the old world, up to level 31. This applies only to future drops of these items, not ones that are currently in existence on a player.

Just to make it clear for everyone, "old world" means the zones that everyone can access regardless of having SI or not.

Already dropped Caer Sidi items get updated according to every post I've read on VN. Doubt they're all wrong.

Update:

A few things have been mentioned, firstly that of one player/guild receiving more than one drop. I have decided to make this rule: Once a player has received a drop from a lotto, they may not lotto for another drop. This does not stop others from the same guild lottoing for another drop - keeping in the rule that you may only lotto for drops you can use.

Another thing that will help save the 'wasted' time, while waiting around for everything to be sorted etc, I will request that all guilds come with a full group or two. There will be a cg for all group leaders, and anyone else wanting to make a cg can do so, please keep /say and /y clear for orders and drop stats. Much appreciated :)

Any more suggestions welcomed.

I suggest guildlotto :). More organized and every guild gets it's/their drops.

I always found guild lottos to be unfair to be honest, because most guilds have members of all classes so want to lotto for all the drops... I can do this if most people want... I will ask in the GL cg at the beginning of the raid :)

Also anyone planning to come and has a few spare minutes please take the time to read this:
http://www.oc.edu/pages/nick.stageberg/sidi/guide/
thx to wildfire for posting it ;)

Every guild lottos for every item and is out of the lotto until rest of the guilds have had their item. Rinse & repeat until you run out of items/guilds.

After discussing the issue of lottoing with Aligro we have decided to use his system, for reasons already mentioned on this thread, the fact that it may be more efficient to use and that doing the lotto at the end of the raid means that people have the incentive to stay until the end if they want a chance to receive drops.

And this is the system:

Well said Apathy.

O.k heres how it goes.

to participate in the lottery you have to be present for the WHOLE of the Raid that means.. as soon as everyone is inside no one else can join in 1 hour later and participate in the lottery. you also have to be present at the end of the lottery, which means you can't get someone else to bid for you. The lottery will be individual and class specific (only the classes that can use the items may be in the lotto for that item). Each person may only recieve ONE item from the lottery.

The lottery will take place at fort. gwyntell and after the raid is over (everyone died and released/we walk out) you have a maximum of 30 minutes to get there

The lotto will be a /random 100 highest person wins and it continue like this until the lotto over.

The "L337 I7AMZ" ie class specific where the item is only usable by a certain class will be lottoed first. then the lesser items will be lottoed i.e items like jewelry which have stats like 3 shield 15 dex/con/quick, these will be done also by classes.. for instance an item which adds to slash cannot be entered by clerics/casters/friars..

hope this clears up a few questions and makes everyone feel more comfortable with the system

Thanks ;)
