Cable Modems!!!

Does anyone know if/when Telewest are going to start allowing customers to connect to the internet via cable modems? I live in the Wigan area and would like to find out as much as I can about the subject.

About three years ago, telewest promised cable modems for Jan 97, but January came and went and they then hushed up about it. They probably realised that on their flaky cable system, they wouldn't be able to do it without spending an enormous amount of money. I mean, lets face it, telewest are pretty shite when it comes down to it (I should know, i'm connected to a Telewest cable phone-line)
