Cabalist Focus Pulling

Given that it is all the rage in Hippie land, has anyone tried it with a caba? Had any success? Will it catch on?

Those hippies were PBAOEing long before we dumb albs decided to copy them, maybe we should be quicker on the uptake here?

Why not use buffed armsman?

A matter specced cabbie once he has area dot usually likes/wants to solo unless a group is particularly good.

Too dodgy spawn.

Finliaths in Hib = 4 mobs, always at exactly the same place, red/purple to level 50, low aggro range, very fast spawn and easy to pull with anything.

And the stonelord calls for help == you die.

been messing around with focus pull & PBAOE recently with a lvl 45 ice wizard. We easily take 5-6 yellow to orange mobs (to me a lvl 50) so i dread to think what it will do with a lvl 50 ice wiz with some RA's

Although it remains to see what mythic are going do with there upcoming "changes" to focus dmg sheilds in the US

You can kill sidi mobs with caba and cleric, very nice farming

yeah, I've been in DF with a Caba, 2 clerics, friar, minstrel a pally and an armsman. We almost beat the Mid Prince.

What I am more interested in is leveling with focus pulls. Maybe this is easier in Hibland, where there are many more healing characters and the amount of chanters means in a group you can take it in turns to focus pull and cast.

Think its more to do with the difficulty of getting an ice wizard and a matter cabalist in the same group. Neither are very high population classes/ specs. And since we have so many pallies, once you have an ice wizard, it's a lot easier to make a regular PBAE group.

(Compare with mana enchanter.)

Worth trying, though.

Hard

Being a matter/cabby besides clericing around I have tried and it is hard.

You need at least one reju/cleric and another healer to heal and for gods sake buff the poor simmy. The simmy with focus shield will attract any agro that hits it but being of 85% your lvl the agro will probably kill it fast.

Wizard:
Yes Ice wizard is good and it is quite fun to have succeful groups without tanks , but fire wizards aoe is also good.

And dont forget the aoe dot, but that requires even more practice.

But some advice to ppl trying it:

1) If pet dies the group dies so act accordingly(instants etc)

2) If the cabbys targeted monster dies the focus shield stops and the wizzies will attract the agro.

Point 2 is easy to overcome, just cycle your target before the current one dies.
