Does anyone remember from old Barrysworld, someone put a link up that suggested it was pointing to a public website that was displaying the contents of your desktop saying you'd been hacked? Does anyone have the link/script that did that?

cheers

Er, probably just a href with the url being file:///c:\, or something close to that.

no no, it was a website that used an exploit in explorer to make it look as if you it had the contents of your HDD.

Cant rememeber the link though

Like the exploit would still exist after so many windows updates?

It's not an exploit, it's just a web page displaying the contents of your desktop - its not insecure as the page says "insert your contents here" and the computer does so. I don't think the webserver can see the contents.

Babs is correct, it was an Iframe that displayed the contents of your C drive

liberal use of <iframe> iirc.

Yep. I posted the iframes trick on another forum and our old friend (no, he is not a mythical character), Glen, posted it word for word on here not knowing here is where I got the iframe idea from in the first place.

Shit the hell out of a lot of people when I first did it :D
