I just wrote a really long thread about the pro's and cons of PS and how I've had to way them up before i decided not to re-subscribe...

... then I closed down explorer before I posted it <muppet>

This game is really good and I love it but I only play a couple of hours a week (compared to the couple of dozen hours a week I played DAoC) and the low content + lag do not equal the $15 plus cost (including VAT).

A MMoRPG has more to do and a normal online FPS is free(ish ). This game has, to maybe only me, fallen between two stools.

Other than DAoC, though, it requires real skill and not some twinked to shit stats in order to win.

I guess it comes down to taste and personal preference.
Just sad to see a well known player slink back to boring DAoC.

Didn't mean to give that impression, because I aint going back there! DAoC is soooo boring after a year or so and PS ain't dull. Its just not good enough. I really want the depth of plot, npc characterisation and rich geography of a game like DAoC and it to be as much fun in the playing that PS is.

Really what I want is the very well balanced combat that is PS (shut-up JH whiners! ) at the heart of a rpg, only way I could convince myself that my money is going somewhere. Think I'll try EVE online maybe, or just buy more single player games.

Cause in general "twats" cannot handle dieing to skill. In Daoc its very easy to hide your twatcrapness in a zerg.

And I was just thinking the same thing the other day too... I'm playing on Vanu and everyone seems to be very nice. Nearly all our top ten outfit leaders aren't egotistical and arrogant, they work together and enjoy the game.

Don't know what its like on NC with Jupitus, he's probably still throwing wobblies at members, if some random noob complains about a good pl player <things never change>.

I just throw wobblies at my uber lag - I timed some text the other night and it took 7mins 35 seconds to arrive on my screen... what kind of netcode shite is that?? It certainly wasn't that bad in beta <sighs>

Anyway... hopefully I'll have an adsl connection soon (next few days) and then it's JackHammer for teh win!!!!1111

I do like it mate just not enought to pay $180 a year to play it!

If I did have more money to burn I would keep on subscribing in the knowledge that I didn't think it was good value for money but being in a position not to care.

Oh and strangley enough I like to chat about games with other people who like to chat about games on a forum about games. Its is what its for isn't it? To promote discussion of games?

I loved PS in the first few weeks. Then the patch from hell came and buggered it up for me. FPS way down , have to move my mouse half way across the desk to look around. Etc etc. Now I don't play it because it's unplayable compared to other games. very sad I am.

Gonna make me a new uber twink on Neverwinter Nights and see what kind of modules are being played around atm till something that can hold my interest a bit more comes along.

Or I may return anonymously to DAoC till the same event happens, even tho I'm still very bored of that just thinking of what to do.

Planetside just didn't hold my interest for much over a month tho, but then it is just an fps.

I ask because I bought the game and foolishly signed up for an extra month at registration.
I certainly DO NOT want to another months charge, so Id be grateful, if I have to cancel, if someone could give me a link as to where to go ?

dunno, i put my details in when i started but then just canceled it before it ever ran out.

I'm currently messing around with EVE online which is certainly different...

Trod - when you launch the game, there is a button (on the server selection screen) where you can edit your subscription.

Cornell - AC2 is crap (though it looked good at the beginning). Basically a MMORPG Diablo. Skill tree thing is ack-bah in my opinion.

Will get SW:G on friday or saturday (bring on teh woleplaying server! Harrr) - but I will keep playing PS. It's a good game and I will certainly give the Devs the time to fix certain issues.

I don't think I will return to DAoC.. it's all about being flavor of the month, retarded d%d language and who's stats make who more uber. No, thanks.

It's automatic m8, just go into "My Account" on the log on screen through the game( the station launchpad login) and follow the instructions

rp-servers on SWG are but a hope.... the rp servers were the first to come online, and they are now full of 1337 d00ds.
