I havn't been able to upload stuff to my BW site now for two days; it's quite annoying because I'm supposed to update my site every day and I can't change a thing.

Everything goes fine until the last bit connecting to the port:

STATUS:> Connecting ftp data socket 213.221.172.70:43502...
ERROR:> Can't connect to remote server. Socket error = #10060.
ERROR:> Failed to establish data socket.

Can someone please look into it and fix it; please, please, please... I know this should be in WebDev (and already is btw)but there is no one there to look at it :(

Yeh i had that problem too
I have got to 19mb of my 20mb limit too.

Personly i would love to add some more MB to my host for some extra cash per year i mean i would gladly pay twice for 40mb of webspace on my single ftp

Did it get fixed; did you fix it or did it just get better on its own? I've only got to 14mb of my 20mb. I agree 20mb isn't a lot, only have 10mb on my BT site though. I read that Tiscali give you 100mb, surely it must be a typo...

i would think 100mb would have no php or MySQL as well as beeeing loaded with Adverts.
but i don't think my FTP is working still.

Yes; but it doesn't matter to any of my other web-sites... It's very annoying; I've got two day's backlog of stuff to put on it now... it's looking all out of date and things :(

i know what you mean, I just finished Reworking the whole website cos my fellow admin just mades every page use the same layout but its hard to update them if you need to do it one by one so i fixed it with Frames :p it should also save a lot of Webspace too.

I just finished a whole new section that's taken me weeks to put together; was hoping to add it this weekend before i go away on Monday, maybe it'll work before then...

Disable passive mode in your ftp client, it sometimes has problems connecting if you or the other person is behind a nat router or a firewall. give it a work, it may solve it, it may not :)

Not sure how to do that; and don't see why it would make any difference when I've been running it the way it is every day for the past five months. Still I'd give it a try if I knew how...

Me too; I'm getting a bit sick from staring at the screen for too long... It's really bad when things don't work and there's no one around to help you fix them when you have to pay for the service imo.... not that it's a lot of money, but it still sort of niggles a bit.

Either go to the #game.net irc channel or send in a support ticket.

most BW peeps don't read all the forums

Maljonic, if your still having problems why not spend the time tweakin your website offline. I did and i found Loads of things i could fix with it, and i saved MB's of space cos of it.
i reduced a bunch of htm files from 10 together to 3mb together
:)
all by removing un needed tables, (i didn't make the base site but i tweaked it to produce a finished work)

I should wait on support for now. But as for not having IRC there are pleanty of ways to get on to the chat channl for game.net.
as a sub you can use there java IRC channle just click Here

I just got an email from Support on the matter
it reads as follows

from: L2support @ staff.game.net
Hiya
There appears to be a problem with the hosted site login, I have notified the appropriate people but it may not be fixed until Monday. Apologies for the disruption to your service, I will be in touch when it is sorted. regards Dave

Thanks for the links Embattle and Gray... I wont bother them with the same problem though, I guess I'll get the same reply you did. I spent all day yesterday doing things for my site. I put a dream dictionary on my BT site so it doesn't use up the space on the BW site; I'm really just combining the two sites with links so it's all the same site, which gives me 30mb to play with insted of 20; still want more! ;)
