where can I buy/"buy online and download client" from. Can;t see anywhere on the website about how to do this, and www.play.com/www.amazon.co.uk don't stock it.

Also I live in the uk? that gonna be a problem?

www.coh.com

then you have to register an account on playNC account, before you can buy the CD key online

then after you have bought the CD key they allow you acess to the server where you can d/l the game.

Ok almost there, but before I buy this game is it any good? looks fun and sounds fun. But I've seen a few negative views. Does this balance with good views?

Negative views? Where?

Been playing since day 1, the only "worry" I have is that I might get out levelled by my friends!

Don't read the official forums Gin, all you'll see there are negative views.

It's full of whiny self obsessed idiots who have less of a clue than someone who lost all the cards in Cluedo.

been playing since the start of the pre-order beta, and I'm still deeply in love with it.
there's always people that don't like it ofcourse, so all I can say is try it for yourself...

personally i think CoH will be getting better all the time, they have the main thing that counts a fun game and will work from that, instead of alot of rpg's who have a set of high goals and a game wich isnt fun

Yea! I haven't found myself getting bored of it even after 3+ weeks! My highest char is still only level 8 but even so... :D

Today, myself and Ala played leapfrog with teh mono-rail! Was a good larf (until I fell off and bruised my butt  )!! :D

Its one of those games which you can put down and walk away from with no trouble. You don't need to spend hours looking for a group and it is pretty hard to gimp yourself (aside from making yourself look like a gimp).

The only thing I am not too keen on is the insane XP grind. Bleh.

Okay, I'm being really dumb. I've registered a playNC account but when I try and add COH, it redirects me to a US store such as amazon.com rather than letting me buy a cd-key. What am I doing wrong?

Which is entirely the point I've been trying to make elsewhere. (Do my posts contain too many words? Is it the fact some of the words have 3 syllables that means nobody seems to listen to what I say? Does an evil Freddys Demon convert my posts to Danish for everyone else? Or do I just smell funny?)

EVERY MMOG is repetitive. EVERY MMOG involves some kind of "grind" in order to improve your character (be it killing mobs, killing PCs, mining asteroids, or whatever else). EVERY MMOG has some easily measurable progression whereby you can judge your character in comparison to others. (levels, RR, cash, ranks, kill count, fancy rare drops, any combination of the above). EVERY MMOG is essentially a rework of the same tried and tested formula, sometimes with silly attempts to disguise it. If you don't like repeatedly doing something in order to gather points of some description, don't play MMOGs. Don't play them and then whine to me that they are what they are. It's like complaining that beer is alcoholic.

It's like real-life, innit? Ya gotta get a job and do the mindless, repetitive, boring shit that makes you want to rip off your clothes, kill your co-workers by ripping out their eyeballs 'Pei Mei' styley and then pissing into their empty sockets and then desecrating their corps...er, where was I? Oh yea, you gotta go through all of that to get to the good stuff ... i.e. money and ~sighs~ the experience that will enable you to get a new and (hopefully) better job.

Just think of MMORPGS as a tool to steel yourself to the harsh rigours of reality. ;)

well you can get non-alcoholic beer :p
Yeah... you can (Why anyone would want to drink the foul tasting stuff is beyond me, but there you go). You don't complain that the acoholic stuff is alcoholic though. Like it would be stupid to complain that your fridge is cold, or your oven hot... you can't really complain that MMOGs are what they are designed to be.

I try not to. And I reserve the right to ignore anyone with completely irrational opinions. I just hope the devs ignore them too.

(Disclaimer: "irrational" doesn't encompass everything I disagree with, I accept and even encourage well thought out opinions that contradict my own. However I'll ignore anything that is completely irrational and idiotic, as from experience it's a waste of time and effort to try reason with people who aren't prepared to think, and/or accept that the world doesn't revolve around them simply because they pay a $10 a month subscription fee)

--hmmm, that sounds terribly pompous and self righteous, it's not meant that way, honest, I'm a very easy going chap away from these evil forum things...
