I'm buying a motorbike as I need to do a lot of zipping around London. Gonna be lots of stops / starts. I don't need anything more than a 125cc

I've been looking at the following 2nd hand bikes:
Honda C90
Honda Dylan 125
Piaggio Zip

But I've found they get snapped up by Knowledge Boys as soon as the ads come out.

Anyone recommend some bikes ? I don't wanna spend more than £1500 on the bike.

Cheers

(BTW just got my One of Freddys Beloved rank :p )

https://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=202040 !!

I got a CBR125 for £900, the above is the thread I posted when I first started getting interested :)

Done 250 miles so far and have filled it up twice, once was last night so still got a 3/4+ full tank of petrol, so really nice fuel consumption.

Its a nice small bike, I've not had much experience of filtering but I'd say that its almost certainly slim enough to do it. All I can say is get a 4 stroke bike if you can, very reliable and still fairly nippy, the 2-strokes are apparently very unreliable and you need to put the 2-stroke oil in whenver you fill the thing up with petrol :\

For £1500 you should beable to get a CBR125, my limit was £1000 when I started looking, and I managed to find the one I got roughly one week after I started looking around.

NP :)

Not certain but I dont think Throd is still there now :( but he is definately the person to see about bikes if you're just starting up though.

I found that Ebay and autotrader are also good places to look for 125's, it was from Ebay that I eventually bought my CBR :)

There seems to be a cameraderie among bikers :)

Looking forward to getting one !

Aprilia RS125. Rode one myself for 2 years, fully derestricted you'll get 33bhp and about 125mph out of it. Excellent sports bike, but could be a problem if you're particularly tall.

Oh, and one thing you'll notice is that whenever you pass another biker you'll get a nod, regardless of what you ride :D

Yea, most definately there is that kind of thing among bikers, driving to work every day I've seen a fair few bikes about, most of the time the other riders have nodded to me as I went past, nodding back made me feel very much like a proper biker lol :D

I was going up and down a bit of straight tarmac when I was still getting used to my bike, just getting a feel for it, and some other bike showed up, massive thing it was, all in jet black with the rider in full black leathers and all that, I pulled over to give him room to get by and he stopped and had a chat for a few minutes before we both went off again :) good stuff!

Its really good fun, hopefully I'm going to get up to "the hill" in newcastle(which apparently is a well known biker hangout) at some point soon, should be good fun :)
