Btw, does aTuner (changes AA settings) counts as a cheat?
It improves the D3D graphic which daoc is using.

I used 2 play CS windowed and no-one called me a cheater in that even though its the one with the most paranoier about that sort of thing.

Even though Mythic might whinge about it i wouldnt put it in even near the same sort of legue as daoc unleased or odins.

It doesn't actually, all you need to do is edit the config file a bit, running DAoC in a window is built-in, it's just that if DAoC loses focus (foremost window), it terminates. Daox is breaking the CoC however.

running daoc in a window isnt cheating, the only reason they designed daoc to terminate if it loses focus (ie, if you window it or place another on top) is because stopping that from being able to happen removes a hell of a lot of the possible hacks that rely on windowing the game.

it's not surprising that they'd get edgy when people release programs that allow daoc to be windowed, considering the sole reason why it's not meant to be done, and personally, although i'd like to run it windowed so i can switch between stat sites, duskwave etc... while playing, i'd much rather have a nice cheat free environment which is more or less what there is now, cheats in this game are extremely rare, personally i'm willing to give up that little bit of convenience in order to have a fairer playing field ingame.

sure it's irritating to have to log out just to check something, but it's more irritating to have people running at fifty million miles an hour while stealthed and being level 100 just because they cheated using a hack that could have been stoped simply by the enforcement of this kind of rule.

no, not everyone using things like daox do so because they're cheaters, but outlawing the use of it (so to speak) does stop a lot of people who would use it for that.

btw, ya it is kinda cheating, not as big as what u suggest m8 but its when people start spying on others in webrooms and relaying msgs to other realm peeps....it leads to duelling, info on raids, blah blah blah, not good

heheh yeah but you can do that with another pc, and lots do, so that they can speak to others from the other realms on mirc etc to taunt them, apologise etc, done it myself before too

but you CAN'T use the window hacks simply by having two pc's linked up, they usually have to be done on the same pc, that's the reason .
