I know some of you must have done this.

Basically my work place is doing a charity event type thing for the local hospital which took care of an employees baby who was born in a bit of a bad state (He's ok now!) and an e-mail just went round asking for people to do a bungee jump.

So I stuck my name down because I ain't ever done it before and now i'm shitting bricks over it already and at the same time looking forward to it.

My backs not gonna snap or something is it? :D

do it Sharms, it's a serious rush. also, your brain is going "what are you doing, silly human" up to when you step off the whatever-it-is you're jumping off of :)

Agreed!!

Bungee jumping is more extreme than skydiving, so you might find some things different to what I say, but when I did my jump I found I repeated practically the exact same words tdc just said haha :D

If it is similar, you'll find the weeks before you do it a bit of a buzz on thier own, the night before is the most emotionally charged, but on the actual day I woke up feeling suprisingly calm, a little of the nerves but nothing like the night before - I would imagine it will be the same for most people.

The best bits are the rush of doing it as Teed's says, then the immediate aftermath is also bloody great, and another plus is the fact you'll be coming away from it with great memories that you'll have for the rest of your life.

Just remember to get pictars and video!! :D

friend of mine just came from south africa..

and he has been bungeee jumping of the highest bungee jump possible there.

...he said befor he was shitting his pants.. and on the moment itself, befor he jumped he allmost actually shit his pants.. but when he jumped.. he said: "That is a moment worth living for" , after this he actually took skydiving lessons and went for some dives;).

so i think it must be very very cool:p

agree, though I wasn't surprisingly calm tbh. I did it in New Zealand at a site on the South Island from a gondola suspended over a gorge. After I'd agreed to do the jump I certainly wasn't calm, though I sat quietly and had a coffee. then I texted my (ex)girlfriend about what I was going to do, and she helpfully replied that if I wanted to kill myself I should go ahead and do it and not bother her with the preliminaries (nice isn't she). then I got on a bus and went to the jump.
I was lucky enough to be the first off, so I got to work out for myself what to do. The people who attach you to the cord tell you a lot of things that you don't really hear, mostly I noted that I could hear my heartbeat and how lovely the mountain across from me looked. Then some guy counted me down and I didn't jump because it seemed somewhat sudden. I asked him to count me down again, and then leaned forwards and ejected myself off the platform and out into space when my body was about horizontal. I remember that the fall had me moving so fast that my eyes were tearing up, and that the elastic catching me seemed very slow and relaxed, but I hear that that's because that particular jump had a long (134m) fall to it because shorter jumps have more energy. The rest of the day and week after I felt absolutely amazing and calm.
I'm glad Dukat had a similar experience to myself qua jumping off. It's strange to have an active conversation with your sub-conscious, because that normally doesn't happen in daily operations. When you're about to jump off something high, or do something like that you've never done before, your brain will certainly come to the front to tell you you're behaving strangely ;)

Woah tdc, sounds bloody amazing hehe

Not really sure if I could do what you did, they always say go on the first countdown also, because once you put it off once it gets worse hehe, definately must've taken alot of stuffing to jump after that happened :D

Definately agree with what you said about having that convosation with yourself, sums it up really, really well.

Probably is because I am certain that Dennis, Neville, Oz and the lads disassembled it in 2003 and reconstructed it in Arizona a couple of months later.

I really want to do one of these... not sure why I havn't yet. Is it expensive?

Anyway, my mate has done quite a large bungee jump in oz, and the way he described it is similar to what duk and tdc said. Basically when you jump you get what's called "Sensory overload" where there's too much information trying to be sent and you just can't process it all. I don't think i've ever experianced that but it sounds like an awesome feeling. He also got to do a skydive and said that gave the same thrill, lucky fucker.

Sharma I've never bungee jumped, but im sure this will help.

When your standing on the edge, quickly fap one off. Just after ejaculating, jump off the bridge and catch it in your mouth. The sudden jolt once the cord contorts causes you to become pregnant!

Hope you dont die buddy, also dont do it naked, some guy did and cut the hell outta his ass/legs

yeah, you close off your brain or something. I just noted strange unrelated things, like the sound of the wind, or how pretty the mountain was, or that I could feel my hair moving. I did not particularly notice that I was falling towards the earth rather quickly :)

I'm old and did one of the first commercial jumps in the UK with the dangerous sports club from a 300ft mobile crane in Hull.

All I can say is just don't look down, I was all for screaming 'Geronimo' as I went but the gut wrenching first few seconds of free fall stifled it to
'Uunnk'

Just remember the split second after you jump you've done it, it's in the bag and as you are falling you can practice your bragging with the LADEEZ.

I remember when my friend did it, there was 20 of us but only 1 person was jumping.
We all gave him encouragement etc and it really helped him, but what he didn't realise is me and the other 18 people had all eaten laxatives. Lets just say brown rain was everywhere on his jump!

What he said, I did a similar 300 ft mobile crane jump back in 1997 or so - first 2 or 3 seconds of free fall (which feel a lot longer) are spent waiting for your brain to catch up with you, after that it actually gets quite boring waiting for up and down to settle themselves into normal positions again.

Don't get fooled into doing what I did though - walking around below the crane going "Ah, what are they on about, doesn't look that scary!" then absolutely bricking your load once you actually get to the jump point and realise just... how... far... down...
